Yeah, it's insane. There is so much AI slop releasing every day, especially these fucking "phone story" games.
I don't even necessarily have a problem with AI art in games if it looks good and if the story is somewhat decent.
But 99.9% of these games who use AI art are lazy garbage.

One, nobody chats enough with the volume of text messages required to float the narrative of an entire VN.

Two, the writing styles are fundamentally incompatible. Anyone texting that much isn't using proper grammar, and I don't want to read a VN written with the consistency of a chronic texter; and seeing rows upon rows of text with good grammar is simultaneously easier to read and immersion breaking because literally nobody would ever text like that.

Three, the only subject they ever seem interested in is boring bitch-assed cuckoldry with a wet-blanket idiot protagonist.

Four, the art for most of them is Gen-AI slop, and the scammers responsible all need to be launched into the sun.

i dont think artificially extending the time between sex scenes is erotic at all, the eroticism comes from a well written, hot buildup/scenario which can be immediate or somewhat lengthy

problem is most of the devs dont have the ability to make a lengthy buildup erotic

i mean i prefer Daz over Honey Select by a long shot but I wonder why more devs dont use VAM, i think VAM models look much better than Honey Select and some stock Daz stuff and the animations are much better as well

For starters, ignore sandbox games. If you want a story with good pacing, you aren't going to find it inside a busy-work grindfest framework that exists to facilitate insertion of repeatable content.

Also avoid anything that might have Gen-AI visuals, cause there's no reason to think you're not just reading Chat-GPT doing their homework for them.

Go to the downloads page, sort by weighted rating, and the first page will be filled with good shit. Pale Carnations, Eternum, Once in a Lifetime, Superhuman, Ripples, Artemis, Katawa Shoujo, City of Broken Dreamers. Take your pick. But yeah, if you're just updating the download page to see what's the most recent that day, 95% or more of that is just absolute trash at this point.
