How many gameover cg's are there? I only found the worms, horsey ride, hanginging restraint and warewolf
Are there more? Finding them isn't really that easy without backing up and restoring save at each level and it becomes boring real quick to try this

That's not entirely true, if the game is appealing enough they won't ignore it despite lack of gallery. They will try it either way and if they fail to discover all the content they'll return here to complain, THEN they ignore
So you get to see hot scenes when you die but dying means starting over and there's no gallery... holy crap design.
Damn I'm a grandpa lmao. Got accustomed to games with no save files, dying at the slightest mis-step and restarting from the very beginning at game-overs, information was spread through word of mouth or not at all. That said, I very much like the QoL updates games have this days, just sucks in teaching patience, how to solve puzzles and overcome challenges - but this is an erosite so it's not the baseline I guess.

god damn waiting for more than an hour trying to get the goblin rider (Forest and green goblin right?) and it ain't working, is there any specific requirement like it has to be the room with the goblin's environment sex background or anything? I leave my game for more than an hour and that goblin rider scene ain't showing up

Yes, you have to find a room that you have to jump down and there're 2 3 goblins and also a gangbang back ground. It's only appear in chapter 1 (not chapter 0) I think
The only requirements are: green goblin, and losing all of your health via melee. The scene can happen on stage 2 / The Mine as well. If you run into a room in Stage 1 / The Forest with 2-3 goblins, it shouldn't take more than 30 seconds for them to melt your health down.
Are you playing the latest version? Any mods installed? The scene is compatible with ThornSinHelper for me.

I downloaded it a few days ago to see what was new and I got a huge scare when we were in the protagonist's flashback, I suppose.

To play devil's advocate, he does have a point. "Lose to sex" H-games create a contradiction between the game's goal and the player's motivation for playing the game (the sex content). The goal is to defeat enemies to progress and win the game, but you need to actively play poorly to actually get the sex content. Playing properly means you do not get any sex content while intentionally losing prevents you from progressing the game / winning. An optimal H-game should weave sex into the game in a manner where it is either a beneficial action for the player or a part of the core gameplay loop. Or at worst, something harmless so you aren't encouraged to avoid it. Making it the consequence for losing is just backwards-ass design.

It may be surprising but not all people treat H-Game as hentai first and games later, some people treat it as games first and hentai later. And from the volume of the sex upon losing/game over games I can safely assume that most of the people are the second kind of hentai gamers (damn that's cringe to type... I may be old now)
I think we wait until the game finishes for the gallery since the dev probably prioritized gameplay over porn (probably... wish they launch it on Steam tho)

A lot of people have rape fantasies. Having it be technically avoidable but a consequence for failure can be part of that fantasy. It would also be immersion breaking to get raped even if you were playing well.
But I also agree that tedium should be avoided. I think a good middle ground would be for sex attacks to be clearly delineated (they are here) and for them to also do no damage, or for the healing system to be reworked so that you could heal from combat a la hollow knight. They could also give the option to continue after the game over scenes by letting the player escape them through a gameplay setup. Sinisistar had some scenes like that.
I agree, this game need to have gallery fully unlocked but instead of just finish the game the normal way you have to beat it via virgin run, it would be a fun challenge
That's exactly what they'd be doing by looking at a game's gallery. If they like the content and it's not easily accessible to them any other way, then there's nothing wrong with downloading a game just to see its content - if they find it too difficult, unengaging or that it dilutes the content too much.
My bar for a "good" H-game is one that ties the adult content and gameplay together, so that playing it and consuming its adult content are one and the same. Lot of nuance in that, which I'm not going to go into now. The strength of H-games is their ability to create/deepen context and continuity for the adult content through their gameplay - and if they don't take advantage of that, I feel they might as well just be galleries instead of wasting my time, interrupting that adult content with gameplay (and/or story) I simply wouldn't feel engaged by otherwise. The bar isn't terribly high and Thornsin just about meets it for me.
At the same time, its gameplay format (ie being a roguelike) makes it difficult to reliably go straight for the H-scenes within the game that the player is interested in. So I'm not going to fault anyone for wanting to skip that and just view what they want to in a gallery.

His original quote has been proven inconsistent; there are many successful and beloved games where the gameplay is middling but the story, presentation or some other element is the highlight. But then, assuming the story's interactivity (and player-agency within it) is limited if not non-existent - The Last of Us as an example - why not then watch it as a movie on youtube instead of playing it?
Yeah, you simply can't force people to play a game they don't enjoy - especially if it's an active obstacle to accessing the content. I generally don't play side-scrolling, platforming action-games or JRPGs - I find them unengaging. The only exceptions are ones that have porn in them. If they have long, dragging stories and long gameplay segments with no H-content, then I quickly tire of them and decrypt their files or look up a gallery or a save file if there's one in-game. It's often hiding maybe 5 minutes of H-scene behind hours and hours of gameplay that I find unenjoyable. And the notion that I should have to play the "game" half of a porn game to access the "porn" half is ridiculous.
