This is messy. I hope whatever agreement they came to is satisfactory to both of them. I understand where both of them are coming from. Aesouth shouldn't have to crunch and ask to do more work but he should communicate better with Motkeyz and Steam.
Aesouh sounds like a complete dumbfuck. I think Motkeyz has been patient enough with him, but all that programmer has done is twiddle his thumbs, not even putting in work. And now, he's not finishing it because he believes he's not going to be paid for it, even if he does.
And, he's resentful of the renpy version coming out because that cuts him out of it completely. He's had plenty of time to get that last version out. So, it's all on him for not doing the work. What a fool.

Motkeyz just inadvertently admitted in the Discord chat that he had no evidence/actual proof of work in progress from Aesouh for a year+ but told supporters the game was close to completion?? That’s a piece of shit move no matter what way you guys want to spin this fiasco.

the problem is that Aesouh could have appeared on discord or even here on F95 for the last year and a half at any time and said something and explained it. But he was just silent, and when the last update was ready without him, he suddenly appears. It looks strange

The damage had to be done. Good to see it's already done. You can't ride on two boats simultaneously. Here Motkeyz is right. And what Aeoush is blabbing so much "7yrs hard work" which is basically Unity. Man came out of cave when he see the money is not coming. Man! A single paper has so much power to bring a man to his knee!!
I wonder, what was that last bit of coding that needed to be done if it was at 99.9% completion? I know people are just saying unity fork or whatever, but it's never as simple as that, especially if you're adding your own custom bits to it.

If the writing and renders are done, then yeah the game is close to completion-- all you'd need to do is put it in the actual engine and push out an update. Part of why Mot said 'fuck it, I'll do a renpy port' was because he's been sitting on the update for 6 months to a year while increasingly losing faith that Aes will actually do the work.
You are not stating something revolutionary. The problem is Motz told his supporters that Aesouh was close to completion on multiple occasions over a year + when that was not the case. He placed his credibility in those words and then to openly/publicly admit he saw no work to back his words is a giant joke in terms of truthfulness to his supporters.
Both are complicit in this charade. Don’t give sympathy to people who can’t be honest and fair to supporters.
