I am not arguing about the fact whether RPGM is limited or not, I am more talking about people who won't play a game just because it's an RPGM game. And those people have this false idea about RPGM because they never ever experienced a good game like those in my video. That's what I was trying to accomplish.I'm not really sure about what you want to accomplish with this post but these are just some battle systems that clearly show the limitations of what rpgm is.
Yes, you can do a lot of stuff with it and yes you can make great games with it. I even used it myself for a few years back in the day and I definitely don't hat rpgm, but that doesn't change the fact that its still "just" a simple and restricted 2d rpg maker that didn't advance much for more than a decade. It's outdated and about 99% of the assets, scripts an what not are made by the community and where first introduced for rpgm 2k or xp.
It's a simple fact that there are better engines out there.
Understood! Yes you're right. There are some really good rpgm games out there, but sadly most of the adult-games are not and I guess that's why most people on here are avoiding rpgm adult games.I am not arguing about the fact whether RPGM is limited or not, I am more talking about people who won't play a game just because it's an RPGM game. My favourite games of all time are Fallout 1 and 2. But I can't play them anymore because they are so antiquated, and even though they came out over 20 years ago they still look a hell of a lot better than the games shown in your video. The poor mechanics and awful graphical assets are the first 2 reasons I don't play RPGM games. The third reason was that so many mediocre developers released games through the RPGM engine that were not even using it for it's intended purpose and where actually just VN's. Ultimately, that was the final straw why I won't even touch them anymore.I am not arguing about the fact whether RPGM is limited or not, I am more talking about people who won't play a game just because it's an RPGM game. Some of us like RPG's and those games aren't aimed at people that don't like them.... and it's boring as hell. And fights are boring. Dunno why we need fights inpornadult games.
I like rpg. But adult rpg games are boring with pointless grinding and walking. Most of them. Some of us like RPG's and those games aren't aimed at people that don't like them.
If people hate RPG Maker, it's not because of its (well known) capabilities, but because of the use made of it.You should watch this video just to have a small idea of what RPGM is capable of...
Damn I feel old now. Fallout 1&2 are godly, I still replay the second one once a year... The UI mechanics are probably the worst thing about them (not much different from RPGM if you discard the art), but everything else is simply divine, especially with widescreen mods and bugpatches. I'll never get over the fact that Tim Cain and Troika lost the bidding for the game rights - they were making a third one IIRC, before Bethesda purchased the IP.My favourite games of all time are Fallout 1 and 2.
