What are you even talking about... Any product has a price, and in this case, the conversion is the password. It only costs a couple of dollars to support the project. Processing, analyzing, and creating something, whether it's HTML or something else, is workhtml using porn assets is honestly already a money grab.
One of your paywalled scenes gave me a "to be added in future update", meaning it isn't even in the game yet. I think that's pretty unfair if you expect people to be paying for that in the current stateWhat are you even talking about... I didn't quite understand the first statement, all bonus scenes are in the game. One of your paywalled scenes gave me a "to be added in future update", meaning it isn't even in the game yet. I think that's pretty unfair if you expect people to be paying for that in the current state
I have nothing against using porn assets and you asking for a fair contribution from patrons. But this seems like a little early in the project to be focused on that side of things.
If you build it they will come...
The previous saves don't work because new variables were introduced, and HTML doesn't like thatQUESTION: Do old saves work? I find this error:
Error: <<if>>: bad conditional expression in <<if>> clause: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '15')
Error: <<if>>: bad conditional expression in <<if>> clause: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '18')
Error: <<if>>: bad conditional expression in <<if>> clause: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '19')
I understand the bonus scene you're referring to. That message was probably left over from version 2, and I forgot to remove it. The bonus scene itself is availableOne of your paywalled scenes gave me a "to be added in future update", meaning it isn't even in the game yet. Um... sure products have a price... but they're typically made by the person selling it, not someone repacking another parties intellectual property then selling it without permission. What are you even talking about... At first, I thought it would bring more enjoyment and be fun, as I've always played similar games and wanted to put my own spin on things. However, now, after three months of work, I can say that most of the time is taken up by routine tasks. This includes creating interfaces, where the "clumsy" Twine engine struggles to create event handlers properly, and I have to resort to workarounds and similar solutions. Then there's the search for the right content, where it's not always easy to elicit the desired emotions from a particular actress, and this detail alone can take anywhere from hours to days. There are many other similar details I won't describe here.Um... sure products have a price... but they're typically made by the person selling it, not someone repacking another parties intellectual property then selling it without permission.

Not condemning you for it btw, just, is what it is.
Like, why would someone paywall anything, on a project that is purely made out of ones own desire and passion?
They wouldn't, money isn't a motive. Especially not if they wanted people to get the full experience of their design and story.
Especially when there are no required costs involved besides time. (which the payment for that is they get to make their passion project, and have people play it).
To be fair though, many do worse with a lot less effort, so effortless is not something that can be used here. But money is a primary motive, cause paywalled content exists.
You can get away with cheatcodes, but paywalled content? yeah nah kinda obvious that it's for money.
In the new version of the game, there are new passwords. I'm not entirely sure that old saves will work correctly, or rather, I'm sure they won't work correctly because new variables have been introducedOk, got the newest version. I went to use my save from the previous version and now there doesn't seem to be anything new. When I view each card in the Gallery all the new content says that it is only for Patreaon subscribers, even for Veronica.
Look, I get that.At first, I thought it would bring more enjoyment and be fun, as I've always played similar games and wanted to put my own spin on things. Overall, I do enjoy how things are turning out, and I'm glad there's positive feedback. However, this creative process can't be seen purely as pleasure, it's more like work that demands effort, energy, and similar qualities. Your support is a great motivation. Creating different levels with bonus scenes is my minimal way of giving back to those who support me, whether more or less.
Perhaps I'll change my mind about this and add free access by the next version.Look, I get that.
But honestly, that all falls flat when sound is something you pay-walled...
It isn't Bonus content that you get, it is content that was removed and you pay to put it back :|
(the bonus scenes also come across like that as well, in part because the game is unfinished, but also how it's presented).
Like you can paywall things in a pro-consumer way, but so far it's anti-consumer.
The paywalling of sound makes it seem like an egregious cashgrab. (milking)
You can't force people to spend money, people just want to buy things, what you want to do, is get the thing you create to those that want to pay for it. While also giving them reason to pay for it, not forcing it.
Think about the sleazy car salesman... vs the salesman who actually pays attention to you, and caters to what you want, not what they want to sell to you.
Currently the paywalling is the sleazy car salesman. I'd suggest trying to make it more of an actual salesman.
Given how well you wrote that comment, I can see you are intelligent enough to be able to do so.
Basically though, try to have it be complimentary, something that is given on top of, not something taken away then given back. (cheats is a perfect example of this, cheats aren't a normal part of the game, and they don't take anything away from the game, nor are any players missing out because of it).
Anyway that's my 2 cents. feel free to discard it.
The city location is still in development, and I forgot to blur it. You can download the fixed version, v0.31I went to the City. Clicked on Business Street. I got two choice: Alpha and Black Prince. When I click on Alpha, it takes me to the strip club. Is that supposed to be happening?
