Are these comments saying that fans that come from other communities such as Black Souls/Touhou/Project Moon/LiL, were causing issues for the TKaF developers?
Or were those just examples of unrelated communities that are also unfriendly and bother developers?

If some members of the community pushed away the main developers, then I fear what the remake will look like without those developers. Will the remaining devs turn a blind eye to harassment to keep the game the same, or will they give in to harassment and change what made the demo good in the first place.

Well all those stuff happened on Discord so people like me who were following the project without joining the discord didn't see anything happen.
It was literally months of no update on the game and then it suddenly got abandoned then they said it was because of conflict among devs and harassment from other communities.

I don't get what kind of online harassment could cause this but personally I think opening a discord server and listening to everybody's opinions seems like a stupid thing to do during game development, as it would only damage the teams morale while they could just collect people who where passionate about the game and have them playtest then listen to only them.

To make it abundantly clear, the Discord/YouTube/TikTok/etc sects of the Black Souls/Touhou/Project Moon/LiL/etc communities are what caused this game to be abandoned. How? By joining the TKAF Discord community and getting into fights with the lead developer to the point they decided to abandon the project and sever all ties with it altogether.

This is pretty much the most straightforward explanation (albeit tainted with my personal bias) anyone could be looking for in regards to "what happened to TKAF?"

From my summary posted year ago, a lot of people wanted to seem disingenuous and assume that these "sub-communities of communities" are all homogenous but that obviously cannot be true, and that was not what I was trying to say. The F95 community, for example, played no part in this shitshow, yet all the same suffered the consequences of the plague-like actions taken by people who happen to like the same things we do.

Was the original dev blameless? Probably not, interacting with a Discord community to the point of abandoning your own art obviously insinuates that you did something wrong along the way. But I would certainly put him as the lesser-to-blame aspect of this considering the 'Discord community replacement dev team' has evidently made exactly zero progress since then. So obviously our original departed developer had a 'slight of hand' when it came to the arts that we do not ... and also probably a shorter temper.

Yes that is true until they tried to contact them again. Which resulted in them not being able to use the art assets from the demo. What they told them according to new devs twitter posts was "I forgot the entire plot so i cant tell you anything".
Which makes it very clear whatever happend they didnt like any of the new dev team.

This is somewhat true, but the reality is, the reason why Pseudo wouldn't let us use the art was directly because I offended him so badly with my understanding of the game that he prevented us from using the art. He shared nothing of the plot afaik, or at the very least whatever he did share was only with Alexey, which would make sense.

I will say however; I've heard a rumour of another independent venture by a Black Souls VTuber who is working on their own TKAF project solo. I have heard nothing else besides that, and I have zero clue as to whether or not it will be good. AFAIK, they were not active in the TKAF discord, primarily just a lurker. All I know is, they're a VTuber and they made Mary Ann a boy for some reason.

Personally that kills it for me, Mary Ann is wife, not boywife. But alas, if it comes out and it's your thing, go ahead and try it out. I also would same the same for the original community project if it does come out, but let's be honest here, I'm pretty certain that will never measure up to expectations.

That one is already done. Unless you are part of their community you wont get to play it because it is pw protected.

Similar to Nidot(or the very same)they are very eccentric. Lots of creative idears but held back by their own lack of confidence.
On top of whatever sort of fear they have for a unknown "le bad community"(Discord people) to come after them.

others developers don't drop it but head developer got sick and we will wait extra 3 month (if not years) to remake and i really want remake to be just continuation of this game not total change of everythink

There is no real explanation. Both the discord group and Nidot tip toe around the subject after it happend. The most we found out is that "le bad community" refers to a discord group they were part of. Some sort of fallout happend inside of it. Nidot crashed out, left the discord, mass deleted various stuff from their own art account and lastly nuked the itchio page.

The person then continued for the following 6 months to create various rant threads about "le bad community". Sometimes it was Blacksouls, somtimes it was the project Moongames. Another time also insulted Touhou for some reason.
In all that time Nidot never elaborated as to what exactly happend that made them feel this way.
Well there is the whole thing with the sister Alice vtuber who claimed to be the original creator of the game but at that point i lost interest.

No one not even those who only followed them on Twitter understood why they did all of these things over some sort of conflict. The people on the discord only joke about it without uttering a single word as to what happend. Only meme about it.

Was it something serious? Was is worth mass deleting your own creative projects and art? Or did people on the internet crash out of something really not that serious?

As i said in the past. The people who wanted to pick up the project after this tried to capture a lost dream. Withouth the artist who was the main person behind everything they were doomed from the beginning. At best their version of TKaF would be a spiritual homage to the idear.

No one but the people involved know or understand.
It is what it is.
I really liked the demo and the passion the dev showed. I loved their unique artstyle.
We all have to move on things that like happen.

I think I can answer this from my own experiences with Nidot/Pseudo.

They were or still are heavily insecure about what they make, and this led to a lot of internal issues in regards to his motivation to keep pursuing development, especially since the game attracted a less than favourable audience for the most part. I won't speak on behalf of Pseudo, but I will say that if I was in his shoes, I would've had a similar crashout over the entire debacle.

I have to disagree with the idea that the idea of TKAF is dead, because it isn't. The execution that Pseudo made is very much dead, but the idea itself is not, especially since I spent months working on a version of the game that would fall more in line with my own artistic values, and I assume the remake team is operating (or operated if they haven't fucking quit at this point, lol) under that same notion.

We didn't try to capture a lost dream, or at the very least I didn't. I made a new dream to fill the place of the lost one. I can't say the same for the rest of the remake team, because I feel as if-- especially with Alexey and Rasin's writing style --that they were far too inspired by what came before and compromised too little toward that end.

You shouldn't want a continuation of a game no-one knows how to continue. The OG TKAF was riddled with issues, and I was extremely vocal about those issues in the first place. We also don't know how to continue it in the first place since the creator who originally made it redacted the original plot. So yeah, that's a pretty lame wish.

i understand your critique but the problem is that no one know how remake alpha will look like and the magic of this game was primally to first developer. i still think that new developers will do great job but multiple time when game change its developers it also change its soul and the suprise was horrible

In all fairness, I’ve spent enough time in the black souls subreddit to know that I’d also have a massive crash out if they made up the brunt of my community. They’re an awful group of people.

I cannot say what other social media Nidot or the other person who claims to be the original dev browse.
From their twitter account most people have been friendly, excited or postive towards the dev.
The most annoying thing i saw was people spamming the same gif or image. Ofc i cannot know if there are any harassing direct messages.
The only thing i could verify was the discord group situation. Discords fundamental echo chamber set up can turn toxic pretty quickly with any large userbase. Even more so as moderators themselves can sometimes be more powertrippy than reddit mods.

At the end no one really elaborated or what has gone wrong.
Neither party elaborated. Nidot self censored. The discord group treats it as a meme.
I never understood in the first place why the original dev let themselves be influenced by a discord group of strangers. When as they claimed are the sole dev who pretty much did all the work. Its not like a Katakawa Shoujo situation where a bunch of 4chaners got together to create their own VN.

Might as well be how the dev or true original dev acts. At the end i dont know scale of the harassment that existed. If at all outside of the discord. Watching the dev stifling their own creative expression however is something that greatly frustrates me about the whole ordeal.

At the end we lost a interesting rpgmaker game. The dev sacrificed their own vision over people who arent worth crashing out over.
