Next Update Sneak Preview *MILD spoilers inside*
Published: 2025-04-13
Hey! How's everyone doing?
NOTE: Further down this post I will include some MILD spoilers. This means: nothing that gives away crucial story parts, but you can see some of the stuff that you would otherwise reveal by progressing naturally through the game. So if you want to discover these things on your own, feel free to wait for the Early Access Release of the next update (see below).
This post is intended to give you a bit of behind-the-scenes information about the current process of the next update and an expected release date.
As I mentioned before, the next update will conclude the story part of Chapter 2 and therefore needs a lot of new art and mechanics, hence it will probably take a little longer than the previous one(s).
Hard to promise any date in particular; I hope to use some of the public holidays that are coming around Easter up to make good progress.
My goal is to at least provide an Early Access version for my beloved patrons towards the end of this month. The public release will most likely slip into May.
Ok...
... so ....
... I hope you made up your mind about spoilers and didn't scroll too far down yet...
... by the way, it sucks that Patreon doesn't have a fold-out-spoiler section that can hide potential spoilers...
... that'd be really handy right now ...
... anyways, enough procrastinating, here we go!
So to show some of the effort that goes into the next update, here are some examples of the new stuff.
You will do some proper tomb raiding, including solving some puzzles!
But don't worry, they will be pretty easy, nothing outrageous like in a classic Sierra Point-And-Click-Adventure. And in "Story Mode" difficulty you will even be able to skip them entirely (i.e. let Clara solve them). I know that some just hate all mini-games in visual novels, no matter how easy/hard, so I will leave them optional.
One is a tile puzzle that you have to assemble by drag-and-dropping the individual pieces:

Another one is based on discs that rotate in arbitrary ways:

As this is not your average PG-13 steam game, of course the puzzle artworks are quite lewd . More precisely, they will depict the Aztec goddess of fertility whose idol you're about to steal...
Speaking of which, as this idol will play a major role for the last part of Chapter 2 and also in Chapter 3, I decided to make a 3D version of it that I can use as reference for the various artworks that it'll appear in, to keep it somewhat consistent.
So here's your first exclusive preview of the infamous idol as a 3D concept/model (just concept art - it will look like the typical lineart style in the game) (...and yeah, Xochiquetzal is THICC):

That should be enough "mild" spoilers for now - I hope this gave you a glimse of what's going on behind the scenes.
Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks!
