I'll start off with the good: There was a decent amount of content I personally enjoy (stuff at home).
Now for the bad from my POV:
Context: The tag of "rape" was added to the game as of chapter 3, unbeknownst to me, as it was not added to the game tags yet.
Sheesh, I was not expecting the unavoidable rape of our protagonist. Don't even get me started on how that was a scene that kept going on and probably hit some kind of world record for how much it dragged on, (and I mean the scene was actually really long, not just because I personally disliked it and as such "dragged on").
It was so odd how it was trying to make the rape seem less bad, while trying to keep the tone of "but obviously this is not okay". It was super distasteful, and honestly, although I soldiered on and finished the rest of the update... I was so put off by the whole thing that I am unlikely to play this again. Maybe by the next update I'd have washed it from my brain, and I'd be able to play again (assuming that's the limit of that tag).
And the weird Stockholm Syndrome that was written in for the protagonist regarding the rape, too! I swear I almost felt violated myself by proxy.
I am aware there was an option at the start to get to choose if you see scenes or not, but I don't think that works as a catch-all. Certainly not when it specifies everything still happens no matter what. I'd agree it would work if it changed scenes canonically.
Like mentioned, the rape tag was missing and none of the content in chapter 1-2 implied any such content would be part of the game. No foreshadowing or anything.
Anyway, just a little rant and just my personal opinion obviously. But do be warned if you don't enjoy that kind of content, it was a huge deal in the game and it kept being brought up over and over.
