It's expected that forum members would lash out on each other when there are many delays like that. :HideThePain:

If it helps to cope, I'm fairly positive this will be the best apple pie we ever had.
Not that I could know anything about it to boldly make such an statement, right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Only Koda can know for sure. :geek:
I'll just wait for Queen Agatha.

So is playtest somewhat playable? It will come soon(TM) or it has decent amount of bugs, and if with the help of god we will get it next weekend? Ofc you not koda, but your prediction?

Honestly I did believe I was being a bit reductive with my anime cliches comparison, so I went back and read through my favorite old content and some of the newer stuff to get a better perspective. I find Kotone and Sofia's stuff the best (makes sense because they by far have the most dialogue), with a couple that could use some work but have potential (Villi, Venefica, Jora etc), but overall I feel my original stance wasn't too off the mark.

Lillian IS for the most part a genki church girl, and she's not really discriminatory towards monsters but becomes awkward around anyone that acts or dresses overtly lewdly, even humans. She still accepts anyone to her church in proper attire too. Venerae (MGD's God) actually supports relationships between humans and monsters, and so does Lillian, she's just a pure girl afraid of anything more perverted than handholding.

Ancilla is the classic stonefaced kuudere maid, with the added bit that some people can find her demeanor a little offputting, but the game doesn't go into it more than that besides her being a bit self-concious. She's very loving and the monsters in the dungeon all seem to care for her alot. As for Elena I really didn't get what you saw in her, the drinking "problem" is played for laughs and she's just Late 20's spinster: the character.
I guess we'll end up having to agree to disagree, but there's a few things I think you got wrong. I'm thinking you may have speedread a bit just to prove a point.

But anyway, you seem to believe that Koda could easily create characters as strong and multilayered as the ones in MGD, but I don't think you have a reason for believing this.
First of all, because there's no real precedent of good character work by Koda. And secondly, because, contrary to what you're saying, he does seem to care deeply about his writing, to the dismay of everyone else who wants him to care that much about his work ethics. I'm sure he'd be here arguing with me about his writing right now, if it wasn't for the fact that the last time he did that he got memed to hell and back for it.
Since we don't even know what's causing the delays most of the time, there's a very real chance that it's this obsession that he has with his own writing and his insecurities/OCD/writer's block are making him write and rewrite scenes into oblivion. If this was the case, then people criticizing his writing like myself are pouring gasoline on the fire  So I'm hoping I'm wrong lmao

Woah dudes calm down i literally checked in today and it's morning for me so in less than 8 hours you managed to debate for 5 pages lol, i did not expect that honestly, even if with a summary i too like mgd's writing and think it's better than ToT, even if then ToT has the CG's, interesting battle mechanics(at least for me,kinda), and other things i don't know since i didn' play ToT anymore because i finished almost everything so I don't remember lol.

Speaking as someone who loves Threshold's work on MGD...
Calm the fuck down guys. It's a tiddy video game.

First of all why are people acting like we're fighting? This is the most fun I've had speaking on porn games in a while, mfs need to mind their business. Either way though it's slightly off topic (not really) so I'll make this my last post about it.

Holy shit I didn't know about that Lilian thing, was that in one of the earlier builds for the game, because I thought you couldn't hurt people on the monster continent? Genuinely interesting stuff either way. And yeah honestly I suppose I am putting too much faith in Koda, but from my perspective it was more underestimating Thresh's talent than overestimating Koda's. He hasn't proved himself period, so there's no point ruminating on such things.

Yeah I remember when he came in here in the after like the fifth delay of Warriors guilds or something, when good will towards him and Bo were like at all time low, just to defend his fucking writing. That shit will never not be cringe. Anyway good talk fam, mods are gonna nuke this shit soon but it was fun not groaning about dates while it lasted.

Same, I'm having fun taking all of the longposts out of my system, at least it distracts from the usual ToT thread routine. The "torture" in the Lilian scene is actually sexual torture, which is why I think it was turned into a dream, because it would be kinda out of character for her to do that. Either way I'd really like to see Koda blossom into a great writer on other areas that aren't just erotic scenes, since I'm a total sucker for world and character building in any kind of media. Good talk bro.

No playtest whatsoever so far. Playtesters are mostly called when needed, AFAIK.
Maybe, a playtest won't be needed and we will get a public release right away, maybe I'm talking nonsense.

Granted, I'm a green Playtester, not that much field experience, so I'm not entirely sure how the field actually works every single time.
I can't absolutely affirm that, but I personally take Koda as some sort of a perfectionist, to the point he is reluctant to share a thing even with the playtesters until the time is right/if-when a playtest is actually needed: fair enough to me.
Koda is mostly a reserved guy and we mostly exchange when it really matters: when you have an actual thing to show him, he quickly pays attention to it. But he mostly ignores my BS, otherwise.

In Crow's playtest, we were supposed to do our thing to have the public release done in less than 24h. Sadly, the bois did such a good job digging and finding crucial bugs/minor details with such velocity that Koda sadly had no choice but to postpone the public release. I felt bad for non-playtesters. Like... really bad.

You could say I'm more of a battle boi of sorts. Because I'm a stud, and chicks dig me.
Somehow, when he's not calling me "noob", "noobaba", Bro Whey seems to like me when it comes to creative department of battle stuff.

If you want my opinion, I would say we are close to the finishing line for what I have a hunch it's the best apple pie we ever got so far.
If I'm free to bet, I like to believe we get it this week to come. But I just don't want to be wrong, jeez... lol

But there's this: if anyone makes it to Crow EX 100, legit, no cheating, I will personally vouch for Boda to sanction this fellow warrior as a Playtester.
Not that my opinion would be taken into account, anyway. :ROFLMAO:
I have spoken.

Many of the writers for Fenoxo's Trials in Tainted Space and Savin's Corruption of Champions 2 are rather good as well, certainly better than Koda at least. But, those games are often overlooked because it's not full of foot content, and they're entirely text based with none, or very little CG as well. I agree that Threshold and their Monster Girl Dreams project is better writing and best of all, its updates are much more consistent so you have a more trustworthy, reliable developer giving us the eroticism we crave much quicker.

Games like MGD need talented, capable writers and games like ToT just need people who aren't Koda and Bo-Wei because they should be at floor ten by now, at the very least. Koda really doesn't even need to figure out how to properly detail a lady's foot because he is supplied with artwork instead where our imagination is not needed since we can just see it instead. Imagine how much slower releases would be if Koda did have to figure out how to be a better writer and had to come up with interesting backstories to explain everybody's position in the tower, etc. He'd have one of those 'ghostwriters' and probably pretend it was his writing. The dude has not exactly demonstrated the best integrity so it wouldn't surprise me.
