I can sorta understand them when it comes to games like this. It takes a lot of time to develop an entire floor with all the artwork that you do yourself and everything in between. However at the same time i sense a little bit of BS from them.

In one of the previous updates Koda mentioned specifically how if only he knew Bo was gonna make such a big floor he would have made something in between to keep us satisfied... Dude come on.... He is your partner in this you talk to him, you need to establish proper communication between the 2 of you and not have these surprises, plan things ahead. If you guys don't know EXACTLY what the other guy is doing/planning, then your fans are gonna be even more in the dark and then you are gonna experience lots of backlash. I mean even before you mentioned how the update is probably gonna be released on March the 10th and then only a day or so later you said Bo informed you that it's gonna take more than that. Again this could have all been communicated better.

What i really think Koda and Bo need to do is establish a plan on how they wanna do things and try to stick with it as much as possible. Do a big floor release then the other guy does something smaller for the next update while the other guy already works on another larger floor and then just repeat that. Establish a flow you can follow it doesn't mean you have to keep an exact strict schedule like nobody expects if one release comes out say in 47 days the next one also has to come out in the exact same time, several days or even a week or more added time is fine.

But if you guys don't have a proper game plan and can't talk to each other more, than all of these updates are honestly useless to us since things could change on a whim and all of this can be summarized with "sorry guys another delay, we working on it, we gonna do better".

I don't wanna bash you guys in any way but it's getting tiring, you've had enough time to work up a proper schedule and plan on what is gonna be done by who each release, just stick with it.

I don't agree that they are milking patreon, i do genuinely think it takes them this much time to properly do things, i just think they aren't planning out this properly so they get themselves into this mess. I hope after floor 7 releases we can get back to a more controlled and predictable schedule, rather than having to deal with all the "delay memes". Also i would actually prefer if they didn't mention exact dates more than a month in advance when they are about to release, just mention the specific month of the release, maybe even say first half of April or second half of April that's fine. and only mention the exact date only days before you are confident you are about to release the patch. That way we wont have to deal with 5 delays before the actual patch drops.

Anyway i still love the game, it's really one of a kind and i do hope more and more people join their patreon and support them.

7F Progress Report
tl;dr - Still working on it; will not be in March

For a spoiler-free explanation for how long 7F is taking, scroll up and replace mentions of Karen/6F with 7F as the situation is very similar: Bo has had trouble finalizing the floor flow to his satisfaction.

A bit more info on our progress and design style for 7F is below.

The main pivot with 7F is Bo wants to expand the scale of floor quest/exploration mechanics. While previous floors have a variety of mechanics, he feels they all essentially just ferry players from one ero-scene to another and wants to try something more organic. Even 6F, which introduced "quests" proper, basically just has you walk to spot X or interact with object Y.

The compact method has merits, of course: it trims a lot of the fat on both ends, many players want to be ferried from one scene to another, and we recognize that tedious RPG mechanics are a pitfall to many otherwise-great ero-RPGs -- but ultimately Bo and I agree properly implemented mechanics add a lot to the lewdness and appeal of the game. And we don't see any reason to abandon our own ambition just because most other games don't seem to have found the right balance.

On the other hand, if the floor flow is too opaque, everyone will simply ask for a guide/flowchart on release day, meaning we're also trying to ensure that there's a sufficiently satisfying "autopilot" path. This has a variety of benefits, such as a main thread to connect the floor, as well as more freedom/plausible-deniability to make more intense or specialized scenes in some areas on the basis that players will only find them if they go looking.

Anyway, we think it's worth trying: before their respective implementations, the most requested features in the game were sniffing Scarlett and then Cobra's shoes. As far as we can tell, you all enjoy turning over rocks and finding something lewd as much as me and Bo, and we want to take that to the next level by making a floor with lots of nooks and crannies, and more elaborate outcomes than some easter-egg text or a quick ero scene.

There's also the completely amazing mechanics I mentioned in the last update but still don't want to spoil, so continue to get hype (and apologies for constantly hitting hype's snooze button).

On my end, I'm working on some odds and ends in addition to 7F and 8F. Karen's puppy stuff is on the way, as well as a sort of overhaul/mini-expansion for Lady Cobra. Like Bo, I've been learning more about scripting in Ruby/RGSS3 (RPGM's language), which opens the path to a lot of features I wish I had a long time ago. And more flexibility in functionality gives more flexibility in storytelling. My plan is to add these changes along with 7F, but depending on how long 7F takes, they may be part of an intermediate release similar to the EX/Cleaning update from last year.

We're aware that this is the longest gap between releases so far and not any more happy about it than you are, but ultimately the game itself takes priority.

The worst thing about this? Every time they announce a delay in advance like this, it means there's also going to be another one down the line. I'm expecting this update to drop late April/early-May Time to stop coming to these forums for a while, I guess.

Also sucks that the only reason we're getting for the delays is "Bo isn't happy with it yet", the same thing they said when they baited us with shorter release times and floors, literally on the back of a pretty good minifloor which must've taken little time to make.

Also, I don't know what sort of mini-expansion/overhaul Koda's talking about giving Cobra, but it's most def going to pale in comparison with the rest of the expansions we used to get. Now we don't even have those to hold us over till the big ones drop

But hey, at least they're communicating this time.

Eh, I sympathize with this. They sound like they had a plan, realized a better idea, scrapped the plan for something even cooler, repeat ad infinitum. Having been on the development side of design, it's an easy trap to fall into and it is the death of schedules. Bo and Koda aren't on schedules though, they're exploring game development and feel they can push the next update over-the-top.

As long as they're not coasting on patreon subscribers and are genuinely trying to make something great, I don't really care how or when they get the update out. Unless the new floor doesn't have any scenes I think are hot, that would suck.

As much as I hated Karen, in two instances her floor did feel "special" in a way that kinda made the long-ass wait make sense.
First with Karen's boot-licking CG which is probably the most complex one we've gotten so far, even if I don't like boot licking myself.
Second with the short cinematic we got when Ethan sees Rose for the first time, it looked great and the music was great too. This moment in particular really felt like something you would find in a really polished indie game by an experienced dev team, though I may be reaching here.

If this new update comes with similar moments of QUALITY increase, then I'm sure the long wait will seem justified.

There are some really important things you guys are missing about this kind of work. I ran the development of a project (albeit on a much larger scale than this) and can share some experience.

First is that it's not really about the money; they want it, but it's more that they're perfectionists and ambitious. Koda's last update showed the depth of that passion. The reason why the game is mentioned in pretty much every ero game forum I've found is because of this fact. You wouldn't have such thoroughness in a porngame for only a bit over a grand a month each without a massive amount of enthusiasm. There is a price for that though, and that is that they will not release something they aren't proud of. This sucks for people being held in suspense, myself included, but you can't have your cake and sniff its stockings too.

The second thing is that unexpected delays happen a whole lot in small teams. When something is a bit harder than you expected (relatable, I would think), there's no one to fall back on in a team of two very busy people. If there were six, or 12, you could just rely on someone else to help with the leftover stuff. When not though, those small difficulties (and god help you with large difficulties) snowball into several weeks of delays. Should they be less optimistic with their release dates? Maybe. But when there is a delay, it cuts them the most. Constantly wailing on them over the delays is like kicking someone after they just finished bashing their head against the wall and pulling out their hair.

(And if you're reading this Koda, and if I can give some advice, have a strict, medium-sized list of what you want to do for an update and stick to it like it's holy. It goes against instincts but it makes a difference to the stress in my experience. Keep up the good work mate)

I don't get how Karen's quests would've made her stuff sexier. Maybe they subscribe to the "If you work for it you'll enjoy it more" type of mentality? I didn't really find much of a difference at all.
If they want to make the game more immersive they should focus more on POV shots imo, right now they seem to be going for an even spread of POV and third-person CGs.

But yeah, of course people are going to prioritize the porn aspect of the game instead of the game aspect, that's a no-brainer

Seconding this. Imagine wanting for two men as talented as Bo and Koda to squander it all making a basic bitch rpg porn game that you can finish in a couple hours. Every single new floor has been an improvement upon the last in some way or another and all of you guys would rather repeat the (meet girl > lose intentionally > porn) cycle that EVERY femdom game bases it's mechanics on just because the wait would be a bit shorter, just have some patience and beat your meat to some doujin in the meantime or something.

I wish there were more POV shots too. Seeing it happen to Ethan does nothing for me. But I don't think the immersion the game mechanics are trying to add necessarily have to do with POV. Doing quests, exploring, etc. are storytelling mechanisms which encourage you to "discover" the story rather than just having it spoon fed to you like a visual novel. It provides a sense of self-agency, which is in itself immersive by virtue of offering choice and creating ambiguity towards an outcome you have control over, rather than a pre-determined ending.

I guess it's technically "more work" in the sense that they're features which aren't overtly H scenes, but the content is still erotic, and I think it makes finding H scenes more meaningful. Just take Rose's scene, it was much more hotter and hype than the basic scene by itself. More importantly though, I don't think these features are necessarily adding "more work." Rather, they're replacing the "work" we were already doing on previous floors which mostly amounted to grinding on fight scenes and spamming surrender. I think it's a huge difference. All of the things I disliked about Karen's floor were more to do with her character and the content of the H scenes than the floor. If it was Lily's floor instead, it'd easily be my favorite floor bar none.
