Hell, even much much before that, in the Temples of the Sumerian Goddess Inanna/Ishtar (who also happened to be worshipped by other Mesopotamian civilizations), worshippers would engage in sacred prostitution as a form of divine worship to the Goddess of Sex, Love and Fertility (she was associated with many other things as well like Beauty and even War too, and had the title of Queen of Heaven).
This is all actually really ancient, as far back as the beginning of written history. Her influence was so great that she would later inspire the cult of many other Goddesses from later religions, one of the most famous being Aphrodite, as an example.

But it is going to be weird that F8-11 going to be standalone releases so then F7 will come and finally put all together.
Because I can hardly believe Koda is going to be finished before Bo Wei completed everything else.
