Lester has no friends. His room in Chicago is just as much of a shit hole as his hotel. That's just how lives. You're forgetting the actual basis of their relationship which is sex. That's what he gets. He pays her to get her to trust him because he's fat and ugly and creepy. He has power over her in her job and holds blackmail material she doesn't know about

It's obvious that this an expanded version of what was supposed to be a short story, you could tell by all the yadda yadda-ing of plot points.

Basically my thoughts on it. I seem to recall it even being on Don's old polls about short stories to pursue. After seeing TA stretch and flounder I don't really have it in me for any other long form stories from Don. He's still a very good writer but there's simply too much filler for me to become interested. I get why he's done this as he's protecting his income but I think it's very much been a negative influence on his stories.

Actually, for someone like Lester to manipulate and control someone they must be in their world. The point of a svengali type narcissist is to invade the person's world and take control of their life, within that world. Then convince said person that they are not in control, but the svengali is; that is the entire point of Lester's life. It may be that Lester has gained more than Sarah at this point in time, but Lester is in control. She not only does what he says but then declares that she will always do whatever it is that he instructs her to.

I understand what you are saying and it is hard to see that someone that looks like Lester could ever do anything but move up a societal ladder as he is now attached to a woman far above his station. She couldn't actually gain anything as she is lowering herself to his level, but as she offers so much for him to take or use she is the one in charge of their relationship when it comes down to it. The problem is that this is not anything approaching average or normal for society. Lester = Jim Jones and Sarah = members of the People's Temple in Guyana and she is definitely drinking the kool aid that he is offering. Lester is manipulative and controlling to the level of a cult leader or maybe Rasputin. He has offered nothing else but his controlling Sarah and constantly pushes down her avenue of escape and protection (Dan). Lester is beyond Dan's level of ability to control anyone and has spent years honing his craft. Sarah may as well be brainwashed, like Patti Hearst, offering a more easily controllable target. In my humble opinion anyway.

You have the right of it on this one. I think it's a common misconception that a sub in a D/s relationship is powerless, when in point of fact the sub is the one who has the most power. They choose to give up control and can take it back. Obvi this is a generalization as there are cases where due to psychological/trauma issues the submissive is unable to function unless someone else literally tells them what to do, but this is the rare exception.

My point of view is that they are both using each other and both are taking advantage of what the other is offering. Lester's kink is control and corruption, Sarah's getting her sexual horizon's broadened. It's a win win for both of them.

Now regarding the Burger King scene, I agree with you wholeheartedly. It was disgusting to read much less, if you had to actually sit there and watch it. IMO it was excessive and I can't even provide a narrative justification for it. I know it's purpose was to show what a fucking slob Lester is and how much Sarah has fallen from her Ivory Tower, but it could have been handled easily with a short paragraph stating that Lester scarfed his food down, reminding Sarah of a pig at the trough. I'm sure the description we got was a kink for someone, but it's one I could have done without.

Simply filler but of the worst kind . Not a fun detour but undoing of what has been done

Otis filling Lesters shoes Dan's reaction to the fact that Lester is Sarah's boss . Even the sex was boring to read where DS usually doesn't go wrong

It all seems rushed up too . He needs a hiatus for a month at lest

Ngl this chapter is a major downgrade from previous one. The Don 'two step backwards' Silver is back. This chapter actually shows why Lester as a character is the rug that ties the room together. Sarah character is way off. The setup for next chapter is...confusing(at least for me). Is her parents in Chicago? And Sarah and Dan gonna spend time with them there? Where are the kids? Chronos is just came and went. Hopefully its all fixed in final edit.

I gave it a read. I usually don't say much. This one appears to be a cut and paste, with Otis replacing Lester. Nearly the same scenario as when Lester took her in her office. Hell the verbiage is even close.

The scene in Walt's office is absurd. Security so lax that a FORMER employee storms in, throws out accusations, and frankly is super unhinged. Dan decks him and a description of the others, Walt and HR are way off how things are handled these days. Someone should have called security. Just so unrealistic.

Chronos. My take it is Marcus. He's coming for Lester.

Lester: comments about causing chaos to return to his lair, one more thread to sever and all would be in order. It gives very little insight into him other than using and busing others. It does underscore how truely loathsome he is.

Dan: He began as a confident man dealing with job issues to a complete and utter cuck. Cliche. The attempts to show him as more are feeble at best. The loving scene with Sarah is pretty much the same old, same old.

This chapter is light rewrite of several similar scenes. Really disappointing. I have been following this story all the from Avid's discord to now. As Chilly and others have said, so much time investment you just keep going, hoping in vain for something more. It is more blatantly seen as simple writing to appease his crones, and most importantly continue to take the money.

Will I continue, likely, but more reluctantly now. He's become repetitive in his writing that even new ones have the same flavor/action and concepts.

Were you ranting or stating what I think we are all coming to grips with - a once vibrant and interesting story that has become as stale as 5 day old bread. Thanks for the synopsis, I'll wait for the final then.

This is really disappointing. Sarah no longer has a unique connection to Lester. She's a generic slut who will fuck literally anyone. She let Otis do things here that Lester had to build up to for 13 chapters. This is pure pandering to his subs and doesn't reflect the original plot of this story.

I'm glad he announced neighbor encounters is coming this week because this chapter was shockingly poor.

He done stretched the story .22 chapters were more than enough. It's all about the money now

I came this far bcuz I was invested in the trio but now I also don't care .

Don is a good writer but I think he has moved on from the story which is understandable .

Hope someday someone does a re-write and releases it as a novel which it was meant to be in the first place

Yes, I'm really bummed that lester doesn't feel like the main character anymore..
But the sex scene description is good.. that's obvious since Don is a good writer.

Dan turning into an utter cuck is obvious..
And Sarah.. oh my god what is this woman doing.. is she just a sex feind.

It's so obvious that we're here for the Lester Sarah dynamic and how he conquers her completely.. but Don is seriously going out of topic here... I've seen some of the comments from his patreons and they were pushing for scenes of Sarah with other characters.... Tragic.

I think I know who they are going after, from the last line in the chapter and it is not Lester. Our corpulent little fiend decided he needed to work on things that would further his situation. This is after he realizes he had hunters after him, on-line. How does he handle both? Dan is going to jail for corporate espionage as well as Jesse pressing charges. Dan is locked up, Sarah is almost completely bereft as her husbands fuck-ups and paranoia have led her to being alone, in every sense. So Lester comes to save the day. At least that is what I think will happen. Any thoughts?
