Toxic vanilla porn fans

Truly, a dev who gives up after reading a handful of bad comments didn't have much hope in his/her project to begin with but you are taking lightly the size and power of this website. This website can quite frankly make a game or break a game. It is in the devs best interest getting support from people here, even more so if they plan on making a patreon. Having a game rated 1 star here won't do the dev any good, good/bad reviews here have real power over how a project will turn out to some extent.

And also, what is up with these lowkey condescending lines at the end?
Not really taking the website lightly, "some" games may have been helped or hurt by reviews here but indie games are not the only games on here generalizations like exaggerations don't help, illusion doesn't care what ratings it's games get here and those ratings don't hurt them either as an example.

Also this is a pirate site not a yelp site, people request games and then others see them and have an option to review them, there are plenty of porn games out there not on this site and i doubt they are doomed to fail because no one on this site has reviewed them. I can also point out that there are a few devs that are very much hated on this site and yet they continue so chug along as do their projects even with very negative reviews and a ton of threads about them being evil.

also i'm not sure what you mean by "And also, what is up with these lowkey condescending lines at the end?" ?

I'm talking specifically about the toxic vanilla fans and not the general vanilla fans. If there is some other word to classify them, pls do tell me.
I'm talking about the devs who are active in the forum. Again u are talking about something else here ma dude.
When I said 10 comments, its just an example. People tend to focus on the negatives more than positives tbh. So u don't need a lot of these bad comments to discourage anyone, let alone a new dev.
The word is Players, as for you talking only about devs active on this forum, you make it sound like there are hundreds of devs abandoning their projects or stating "i will not add new stuff because of comments" when you could have said "some devs" or "a few devs" your exaggeration makes it sound like a much bigger problem than it is.
Yes some people tend to focus on the negative but some don't and if a dev is going to drop his project because of that the project is doomed either way. Alot of the games here are hosted on other sites and some even have their own discord so even if they get alot of positive comments here, they might get negative ones on discord or patreon or the other sites they use and according to your theory those will make them quit.

btw below is a link explaining conventional / vanilla sex hope this helps clear some things up for you.

I doubt ratings matter even a little bit, and also haters and kink shamers probably just generate more visibility for the game by making the threads explode.

people mostly only care about their kinks, and no matter how bad its execution is claimed to be they'll at least want to check it out for themselves. someone who likes big tits is not gonna be deterred if some rando rants how they hate big tits in the comments.

in general i would say: to be offended on others behalf is immature. The game developers clearly have a vision when they put out games. If it is about making money, they would cater to the widest audience from the start. But there are some who put just too much into a game. I can understand "toxic" people who trash a game featuring "a tentacle furry is giving a scatplay footjob to an incest bestiality-loli-futa with shota-milf voyeurs. I don't need to play this game to know it is shit :p And everyone has a right to my opinion. BUT!!! Those who are into all of this stuff or tolerable against unwanted things will give it a try. So i conclude basically this whole thread is about "whining because i got kink-shamed"
Advice for free, young Padawan:
YOU CAN'T GET KINKSHAMED IF YOU ARE NOT ASHAMED OF YOUR KINK!
i guess that are my 2 cents to this topic. Gonna watch it when i have some popcorn ;)

Do people actually look at the stars?
Looking at the stars, never, but at the reviews sometimes, when I'm uncertain about a game.
There's some that are badly sold by their author (too vague description, not significant enough screenshot and all), but are saved by the few that write significant reviews. And the opposite is also true, with some games that aren't different from those over hyped movies, where you've seen all the interesting content just by looking at the trailer.

Clearly missing my point. This thread is about "rating/reviewing" games based on tags and without even playing it. U somehow managed to dodge that part entirely. Also, I'm not even into a lot of these kinks. So I don't get your "whining " comment lol. Also, I see that you are upset, but nobody forced u to read this lmaoo

Consider the quality, or rather LACK of quality when it come to reviews of games on this site. Looking at stars is a waste. It would be like eat a shit sandwich because someone did recommend it to you. Stars and reviews on this site doesn't make or break a game. You will always have haters, regardless of the game and quality of. You always have people post in threads complaining about they don't like the game because of this and that tag/fetish, even it's displayed in the damn overview to start with.

Bandwidth is cheap, I rather download something and test for myself. Opinions like assholes, everyone got them and they split down the middle.

OP, I know what are you feeling
I really never saw a review based purely on kink but I saw a lot of these comments in threads
A lot of these guys are either troll or someone trying to inflate their ego so you just ignore them

Well, OP, sounds like you have some comments and reviews to flag.

Devil's advocate: let's say you're right. Let's say there are some toxic people, they do happen to be 'vanilla porn fans' (I'm not sure why the category they belong to is relevant to your argument, but sure, why not), they posted some mean comments in the thread to a game you found interesting, and/or mean and undeserved reviews in that game's review section, and that directly resulted in the dev for that game quitting outright.

What would you like to happen? Do you want those commenters to be automatically banned for having an opinion you disagree with? Do you want to tell them they're wrong for feeling like the addition of a certain variety of fetish content in a game spoils it for them (and I'll tell you right now, there's a lot of games I'd stop playing if the dev started adding scat or snuff stuff to them)? I'm not sure that would solve anything or make this site better. If people are being jerks in a way that breaks the rules, you can already report them and they can already suffer consequences for it.

You're well within your rights to complain about this stuff here, I'm not going to tell you you can't post this thread or anything like that, but I don't see posting this thread doing nearly as much good as just reporting the offending comments/reviews and seeing what the mods have to say about it.

On the flip side, I've had a review flagged for being too positive about a game (Dandy Boy Adventures). I still think it's a super great game, and a lot of the things that some people might see as downsides to it I consider to be intentional quirks put in by the devs because of the aesthetic they're going for, but apparently I wasn't mean enough to it for somebody's liking. So I always make sure to criticize something in a game review just to make sure my review doesn't get flagged for that reason.

.... but if i remain silent you wouldn't have an excuse to run to your mommy to get some breastmilk :p
but seriously: a forum is there to state opinions. If people not able to take some, it is clearly the wrong place to be.
Maybe i am too old, but this snowflake mentality really gets on my nerves.

Your reaction to my joke begs the question who exactly is the snowflake in this equation?
