In the case of a bipolar disorder, no. Just giving her some antidepressiva will most likely just make her even more unstable or cause a manic episode. They should really stick to the meds she has taken before.I think at this point any of the myriad of standard anti depressants would have a good enough effect to at least calm her brain somewhat and those should be available in most pharmacies behind the counter.
Or let it as is, experimenting with meds on her, when none of them has a clue, is not the best of ideas. Not to mention the meds will still need several weeks before they work as intended, before that they often have a lot of really shitty side effects...not sure if that is the best of ideas in their situation.
That they ransacked this kind of meds is not really likely imo, more like pain meds and antibiotics.
