In N&T, we had LIs pop up at various points in the story--many of them we met early on, only to become LIs later; some others we didn't meet until later, but I'm counting six of them off the top of my head. In TID, we had a dozen or more. The artwork here suggests there are only three: Laura, Kallie, and Shelly. Is that known to be the case, or may we yet meet others?

September 2025 Public Wallpapers

With the cross-section of the kids going back to school (or college) and the return of American Football on the weekends, we decided to dress up the girls as cheerleaders for September 2025's Public Wallpapers.

Consider this a throwback to the time we did similar wallpapers for Now & Then. It's not a huge surprise that the gym that shows up in 0.10.0 of TOXICity is similar to the one in N&T, which also brings us back to sexy girls in cheer apparel.

So, Shelly: Just an unmedicated manic-depressive, or is there something more going on?

Shelly has struck me as a bit "off," for lack of a better word, since we met her. We've since learned that she's manic-depressive, off her medication (since her prescription ran out, and she's obviously been unable to refill it--presumably it'd run out before we meet her), and we have a clear view of her "depressive" side. I'm wondering if we're intended to chalk her behavior in the dorm just to her being in her manic phase, or if there's something else going on with her beyond the obvious TEOTWAWKI. Specifically:

• She seems awfully interested in MC's sex life--I think she asks all three of them if MC's banging at least one of them, within the first day that they're speaking.
• She's remarkably horny. Sure, this is an AVN, but Shelly's easily the most horny, most quickly, of the LIs we've seen so far in this dev's games.
• She seems extremely impressed by MC's rescue of Kallie
  • Though it's unclear how much of it she saw--if she saw the whole scene, her reaction when they came to the door doesn't quite make sense
  • She expresses it differently, though. To Kallie, her take is, "I'd never not be banging him;" to MC, it's "I'd be planning the wedding." The latter is particularly noteworthy, I think, given her stated FWB status once she and MC get to the loving.
  • It's kind of interesting that she doesn't react this way to his rescue of Laura. Maybe because he didn't literally carry her back? Certainly he was exposed to at least as much risk then as when rescuing Kallie.

I don't have any particular theories here, but it just feels like there's more to the story.

Not sure if there is anything else around Shelley besides her BPD/BD and the obvious "the world is going to shit" around her. But I beleive all other topics you mention could be easily summarized in just one word: "hormones".

Shelley is just a young adult (or late teenager) in her early university years. That alone should mean enough hormones to stop a train. But that, coupled with the hormonal imbalance that may come inherently to her condition, is probably an explosive mix that could easily explain any and all of the behaviours you mentioned.

More like sex is like one of her only talking points, in one way or another...to be fair, manic episodes can lead to a strongly increased sex drive, but it seems it's more like her character overall imo.
One reason she is interested in banging the MC as a serotonin booster, i think she mentions that in a shower scene.

IIRC she mentioned she was nearly out of them before the whole thing started.

And missing a few days to a week of those types of meds can be quite catastrophic for your state of mind. Her bouncing around is quite good in that regard, rapid ups and downs etc in her mood.

Shelly seems to me, a gossip hound. Which means when she is in a girls dorm, 90% of the conversations revolve around boys, who is screwing who, and which ones are good. No friends for days (they all left) and she lost her primary source of conversation. This is like Kallie, and her phone going dead, she was almost manic that she couldn't talk to her fiance. So now a guy, with a few girls, comes back into Shelly's life, and now she can gossip again. However the other girls are not really gossip hounds. So she has to figure out how to be a gossip hound without being a huge annoyance to everyone.

I also remember her saying she was almost out when the SHTF. For MC, the first real day of poison-fog was Jun 17, and it looks like the last morning was Jul 11. The previous day, Jul 10, was when Shelly went notably depressive. So we're about 3 weeks in. Note also that Macy had been counting the days before she died, and was up to 20--the college may have been hit a day or two before the office.

Her right hand. And it's her left hand on his left thigh. You can see a little bit of his shorts. From upper left to upper right: her right hand, her right leg, her left leg, her left hand.
