This is the only thing in your post I agree with.
I couldn't understand what Laura thought she would find out. Now if the woman was headed away from the garage, that would make perfect sense.
Where is garage-lady going? Does she have another place where she can stay and/or have a stash of supplies? Yeah, I want to follow her and gather intelligence.
But Laura thinks she knows where the woman is headed. So what possible intelligence could she glean from following her back to the garage? She doesn't need to follow anyone to the garage. They all know where it is. They could (all or in pairs) make a scouting excursion to the garage at any time.
I think this is just another example of someone making a poor decision under stressful conditions. That and Laura has always been headstrong..

2 reasons.
1. The bitch with the shotgun already threatened to kill him once, stupid to give her a second chance.
2. If whatever she was shooting at isn't dead and killed her then he's got no chance.
Then again i'm just enjoying it for what it is. I've given up expecting common sense or a sense of self preservation from anyone in this game. It seems they all have a death wish and plot armour is working overtime.

Well, I will say this one is a bit easier to understand since they are already outside, are carrying a weapon themselves and also they already know who's probably the one carrying the shotgun. Still, I hope they at the very least try to be sneaky and don't just walk up there without hiding.

And by the way, let's not forget that when we were with her and she pointed a shotgun at us, she asked if some person (I forgot the name, but I think it was Andrew) sent us, so yes, I would definitely check whether the Girl or someone else shot.

Do you want to bet that the MC can do some good here and that will be the catalyst for bringing garage-lady into the fold?
If the bitch is fighting off whatever, she's not going to shoot someone coming to her aid. Shotguns are short-range weapons for the most part. While pistols are too, the MC can fire at whatever from a distance. Can we at least assume that the garage-lady is not stupid?
Since we don't know whatever it is that is drawing her fire, we have no idea whether the MC can help or not.
Do you want to bet that the MC can do some good here and that will be the catalyst for bringing garage-lady into the fold?
The woman with the shotgun could have killed or seriously injured their group but she did not.
She even went out of her way to tell them about a refuge where they could safely rest.
IMO - this makes her a potential ally and certainly someone who knows more about the neighborhood they are in/may have other lifesaving knowledge they could use.
So - I vote to Carefully investigate.
A key factor on the way/close to the garage is how dense the fog is - ie - is visibility < 5 meters - think white out in a heavy snowstorm or is it 'safely' navigable? If they can see the threats they know about (witch/burned ones) in time to react, then yes - but if they cannot, then now is not the time to check on Miss shotgun (because she cannot, in very bad visibility, determine if MC and Laura are non-threats and this feels like a shoot first situation now).

I would say probably a good idea - given someone firing a gun isn't one of the monsters, and there haven't been any bad people encountered so far. They could also need help...

The visibility looks as good as it ever gets there to me. You can easily make out a building across the cross street. He just needs to be cautious when turning corners.

Uhhhh... no bad people? Did you forget the dude that nearly choked the MC to death an update ago? The one with the collection of mangled female corpses he was hoarding in a room?
I think regardless of how good or bad an idea it is, the MC is gonna follow his modus operandi; whether or not he thinks it's in the best interest of the others will determine if he investigates it or not.

He was a psycho and being ready knowing someone was there it would have went differently - as in shot before he could choke. I mean there haven't been gangs, etc like in many post-apocalyptic (even where, as appear, the apocalypse is local.) It would be rather difficult for one to form in fact given conditions.

Is this the prevailing opinion on what that was? Because my impression was that it was just a witch going from honeypot to attack mode. The idea that we happened to stumble on someone at the exact moment she turned into a witch feels like a stretch even for ToxiCity, although I guess I wouldn't be surprised if that is what that was supposed to be.
