The "link" in question being their Patreon, which the game doesn't even disclose unless you already clicked on the ingredient.Attempting to use the "premium" ingredients opens an external link
Thanks for the feedback, I honestly had no idea that might be a problem, the idea was taken from other patreon games that straight up open the page and at the time it looked rather easy to implement so I stuck with it. Going forward, I'll replace it with a popup to ask the user to open the pageAttempting to use the "premium" ingredients opens an external link.

Harsh, but honestly still one of the more constructive pieces of criticism I've faced on this project, so I'll roll with the punches and improve the game. I'm glad you gave the demo a try.The "link" in question being their Patreon, which the game doesn't even disclose unless you already clicked on the ingredient.
Because I should put my money towards this game that somehow managed to make an Unreal Engine game look like a Unity game...
One that has an introductory pop-up with the wrong version number...

And assets that are just hovering in the air, clearly misplaced...

And why did you pick, of all animations to choose, an expression of severe gastrointestinal distress while the person is transforming? That doesn't usually signify good things. In fact, I usually make that expression when something really, really bad is about to happen.
I would imagine the Patreon version isn't any better than this, aside from the single other direct body modification you can do and the two completely unmarked/undescribed ingredients. And the character creation, which the tutorial for is completely open despite being Patreon-exclusive and shows something you can't even do in-game because it's a Patreon exclusive.
I really would love to give it a more fair and light-hearted look, but it really does just look like it's unpolished on purpose. Until I see updates to this that prove otherwise, I'm just going to flat out say it: I'm assuming with my full dick and balls that this is a cash-grab and nothing more.
This one I don't really get, not sure if I can explain the choice of the engine for the game in a short post, but for the sake of being brief I don't think engine choice matters here. It's a stylized anime game. Over the course of last updates I've put a lot of effort to improve the performance so the "Unreal game" can run like a "Unity game".somehow managed to make an Unreal Engine game look like a Unity game...
No particular reason here, honestly didn't think of it as a "gastrointestinal distress" but more of the genital area being affected by some kind of sensation. As the content will grow, I'll update the transformation animation to something different, perhaps even a mix of them depending on which parts of the body are affectedAnd why did you pick, of all animations to choose, an expression of severe gastrointestinal distress while the person is transforming?
It's a balancing act here, on one hand some stuff is premium and not available in demo, on the other, I think the player should know if there's something they're missing out in the demo. I know some games do a different model, where the devs post a flat out full versions that are outdated by like 3 versions back. While that could be more fair, the game is growing rather rapidly with important QoL and performance updates, so even one version behind qualifies as non-representative for me, hence I prefer to do the demo model. For now at least.you can't even do in-game because it's a Patreon exclusive.
(broken heart emoji)that this is a cash-grab and nothing more.
A lot of people do it, but every time I just think, "There's a very real possibility it's opening a virus and I won't be able to do anything about it." It seems like there isn't a way for players to disable browser pop-ups through Ren'Py unless we manually scour, identify and change the code, ourselves; it seems like a huge security oversight on Ren'Py's behalf, unfortunately....the idea was taken from other patreon games that straight up open the page...
I feel like some people are being a bit nit picky over things that really don't matter but there are a lot of abandonware cashgrabs on these forums so people are a bit wary. I think the jump in quality between those two screenshots look good and it gives me hope that the game will improve more rapidly than other Unreal engine games I've seen here. Don't be surprised if initial patreon sign ups are slow until the project has made some more progress. Giving consistent updates is probably the most important thing to build trust early on. Also, I agree that a warning popup that takes you to the patreon would be preferable to a hidden external link assuming you can't accidentally open the popup a whole bunch or easily open external links unintentionally.I know some games do a different model, where the devs post a flat out full versions that are outdated by like 3 versions back.
