I'll just say the dev is alive still, quite active on twitter actually "@bs_route240" for anyone wondering, i think it's fair to say they're not willing to developer the game, partly maybe the artist passed away, which i guess hindered them from developing it more

Good enough. Like I'll still be somewhat cautious with his new project if it ever gets to completion, but at least he's still holdin' up.
