Early update this time!

This month I have almost entirely gotten a first pass through every folder for the game!!! We're drawing ever nearer!
I've gotten all the major areas done and sorted to what I consider a solid first draft. But now I have to loop back around to checking towns, checking any loose files, and doing anything I left on the backburner. Then I'll move onto settling on names for everything and making sure those all hold up! (The dev really likes their super weird names lol. Had many spots where the TLs always came out different randomly.)
After those steps, I'll be moving onto a full play test and cleaning up any left over areas and mistakes!
If all goes well with that, I'll be ready to push out the full tl'd ver, and you can finally understand the extremely dense lore hahah.

So keep an eye out and I'm looking forward to putting it out before too long!

Maybe could you tell how do you fix the text? I was trying to do the translation for Dammned, Kill me!! but I run into this problem, or probably share the tool you're using in case is better? 1750108634616.png

I'm manually editing the game files with ActionEditor4's editor program. Translation programs can't account for this game's word wrapping as it is done only through text rather than accounted for by the game engine. In the years I've been messing with it, I've not seen any programs come up that work well for English, hence the need for manual editing. You basically have to eyeball it via the editor, then run the map to find out where to wrap text.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by CAT interface, but it's not overly complex.
You just have to be willing to do everything by hand for every single map that needs translation.
Usually a process of opening the map in editor, finding the relevant events, scrolling through code, and translating/typing it back in. Then testing the map, and adjusting text as needed. Rinse and repeat for all maps.

Apologies for the delayed response.
It depends on what ver of the game engine the game you're looking at poking at uses. I have a general guide on how to find the correct version on this thread. If you tell me what ver it's using I can post a dl for it then.
Ideally we'd get as close as possible to the original engine ver for the sake of safety. I have TECHNICALLY seen issues with the game running mixed versions between files, but I would still advise trying to avoid it as a whole.

TragicSolitude just an idea have you thought of releasing the translation as you go?
like for example your current version which could be like, idk, maybe 0.7
then we can play and when we reach jp text we wait for an update on your translation and so on
if you don't want to it's fine of course

That's not really my speed, so it's not really been something I've considered, no.
I much rather just throw it all out there when everything is done. Especially since with the names from this dev being so out there I'm still uncertain on if I kept everything consistent. Much simpler to clean it up this way, for me.

We're here!

Thank you everyone for your patience and encouragement while I was working on this! It has been a very long year of grinding away at this!
This is certainly my biggest project to date, and I still feel like it might show in some spots though ahaha...
Regardless, I'm excited to release yet another TL for this game engine and my first for this dev!

This is all of the game files on their own, so you can just unpack and play! There is LESS of a requirement for Sys Locale/Emulator for this as I basically stripped ALL the JP characters. Other than the names of the music tracks, because, admittedly that just seemed like a bit of a headache and I'm being lazy there. However, the down arrow is also a JP character, so it may be funny without those things! As always, feel free to try, and if it works for you, great!
My recommendation would still be to have it, but, I can't force you.

As with Kemomimi, please post any issues you find! This one is a lot bigger than that though, so you'll have to be EXCEPTIONALLY specific about where you find issues! Screenshots and names of regions you find it in will be a must!
Otherwise, I welcome suggestions, or little quibbles that you find with formatting/text, etc. This will be my dry run before tossing it up on the wider net, so I'd appreciate any notes!
Especially since while I tried my best with playtesting, it is a large game, and I'm certain I missed something somewhere...

If you are curious about world lore, there is a document in the game's directory that is written up alongside the in-game version. You don't ENTIRELY have to get to that point to read it, but I'd recommend it, as it's rather spoiler-y and this game is actually written quite deeply.

There are also some areas, like the H scene gallery, that are also just super fucky because of text limiting. I did my best in that spot!

Also, if any brave artist wants to step up in giving these sprites some more detail compared to how heavily censored they are...
