Found an MTL of v1.13 on svscomics,

. It's... serviceable. Some menus are broken, allowing you to select options you haven't actually unlocked yet. The game also crashed on me once, but I save often and there's an autosave too so not much was lost.

I didn't experience any stuttering with the mtl version, so v1.13would probably be more stable for you too (the dev's blog also mentions fixing a bunch of bugs).
