At least the developer(s) could be a little more honest with the actual date of release. Developing games isn't easy, especially pixel games, where most of the work goes into art and correctly animating them (unless they're gifs). I wouldn't be angry if they'd give a statement that the game won't be released on X month or delayed by X time, but for example say which Time of the year it'd be possible to release the game. This way, delaying the game is only making their fans disappointed and angry.

I agree. I read the current strategy as a carrot on a stick situation: The dev post the release date within the current month, but delay it to the next one at the last day (based on the latest two iterations). It comes with frustration on long terms, though.

it heavily changes people's opinions too,if the game gets delayed multiple times ppl thought the game's gonna get better/get more content but then it gets released and it still felt unfinished,people would not be as sympathethic compared to releasing it on time
