If you have 7Zip installed, for games like this, I recommend you install WinRAR, it still offers a “lifetime trial”. When you download it, open the archive with WinRAR, hover your mouse over the options, and choose the encoding of the name there. You need Japanese. (932 - Japanese Shift JIS)
After that the folder name will change to Japanese characters, instead of being filled with meaningless characters. Then calmly unzip this folder, and try to run.

I will not claim 100%, but most likely the game is simply not compatible with joiplay (or whatever you're using), and that's why this error is given. On PC I have not had this problem, and unfortunately i can hardly help here.

Here's a SLR mtl to tide y'all over.
- This is for use with v3 (27 Sep 2024) of the game.
- Installation: Put the archive in the game's main folder (where the exe is), right click, and choose "Extract here." Overwrite when prompted.
- A full save is included in the archive. When you install the patch, [Full_Save.rar] will appear. Right-click and "extract here," overwriting when prompted.
- Most menus are untranslated since that would involve image editing or digging through the scripts, and that's the kind of effort I'm unwilling to put in when there's a risk of the game getting updated and making the TL obsolete. It's not like there's major strategy involved in this game though; just click on a box once and you'll know what it does.
- Sometimes there'll be a blank text box since the nametag takes up it's own line so SLR ended up splitting the box inconveniently. This would be an easy fix but involves going through the whole project row by row, and again, I'd rather not spend that kind of time if the game is still likely to get updated.
- If it's 2025, there haven't been any updates for two months, and no one else has made a better translation then you can @ me and I'll look at cleaning up the tl.
