Can you stop baiting to try to get people to beg for your rewrite? You ignored the one poster who asked what change you were making and you reply to multiple posters asking if anyone is translating it, as in actually translating it and planning to release it, to tell them about the translation that you said you AREN'T going to release because you're doing your own rewrite, but oh maybe you will if people tell you they'll defend your rewrite, which you won't say what it is. You either aren't relevant to what they're asking, or you're trying to bait people with low standards into begging you to release your version and ignoring that you're doing a rewrite.
The actually good element of this dev's games is the writing. Stop it.
You know, I wrote an entire damn response to you, but I realized that you're right, and so I decided to erase it and start my response over. Here's what happened, since it was an error and misunderstanding on my part.
1.) I did say that I was going to translate, but was considering just translating for private use.
2.) I backtracked once I saw an English translation was going to be released on Steam and so I confirmed to the community that I'd just keep my own translation to myself.
3.) I then saw everyone wanted a translation, and heard that the Steam translation would take quite a while, and therefore in my mind, I decided to translate for public use after all, despite not telling this to the community.
4.) I completely forgot that I publicly said #2, so I lashed out at others when they asked who's translating this (especially because I did say so a few posts before theirs). Even though I still think lots of folks need to use their search function when asking that sort of thing, I was in the wrong because if they did search, my commitment level appeared murky at best, and utterly misleading/baiting at worst.
Lezardvy , I owe you an apology. I shouldn't have chastised you for my own error.
To clarify and explain, I AM translating this, but for now,
please consider it private unless there's enough public requests for me to make it public (which I'll happily do later); the reason for me trying to keep this to myself at least for now is 1.) I don't want accountability for finishing this translation 2.) I believe that the eventual English release will make mine obsolete, so there may not even be a point to me releasing my translation 3.) I've gotten feedback regarding the rewriting changes I've made to one/some of my translations in the past, which I will not defend.
Do not mistake this for me trying to bait anyone into begging, or for me grandstanding, because I'm just a dude behind a keyboard, no better than any of you (other than me being willing to actually do the translation work).
Once I'm done (and it'll take me a LONG time even if I finish), I'll offer to release my translation and if the community wants it (and if no other translations are released yet), I'll do so conditionally. Otherwise, again, please just think of this game as going untranslated unless anyone is willing to release their own MTL/AI translation. Apologies for the pedantic nature of this post; it's just easier to explain this way. Now that's enough wasted time writing. Back to translating.
