I'm really not sure what the deal is tbh, this is far from my first RPG Maker game and I've had similar errors before that I fixed by just doing the thing and changing the locale, using a locale emulator, etc, but for some reason this time nothing is working.

Not blaming you or anything, just really don't know what the problem is. Might be that the saves are borked because I didn't have the right locale to begin with (I was using locale emulator, but didn't actually change the region because it's usually fine)? I could test but it's kind of a pain to play the whole way here just to find out.

the damage already done to your game folder, changing locales and just running the game won't fix it
you gotta re-extract the game once again and copy your save files to the newer extracted folder
because i reached this area and passed it without any issues

I actually did just do a test using MTool, started a new save with a new installation, Japanese locale, rushed all the way to the slime and the game now simply freezes at the same point, but without the TypeError message appearing. There might be some Windows stuff going on here but I just cannot get this bit to work.

thats interesting, going to re-upload the same files i used on that spot hopfully it fixes it

Edit: And I tried the new download, same crash as before, so I think it's definitely not the fault of your translation. Must be something on my end, for some reason.

Edit2: Alright so I went and downloaded the raw version of the game, and was able to get past the slime bit. I also noticed during the fight that there are actually in-battle animations for some of Reina's skills, which was news to me since they weren't playing in the MTL version, they were either being skipped or just not playing. So no idea whats's going on there.

thanks, got the same error and went to check what causes it
turned out the text wrapping messed the code

mlt translation to who doesn't know what it is, basically google translation resulting in wrong pronouns but provides playable state

IMPORTANT STEPS:

in order to avoide files missing or corrupted due to file extraction you MUST change system locales from english to japanese

- Go to "Control Panel" from startmenu in your windows
- Change the option "view by" to small
- Go to "region" and click on it
- In region,go to administrative section and pick "Change system locale..."
- Change your "Current system locale" to "Japanese" and hit ok
- Click on apply then ok, a window should pop up asking you to restart so changes be applied
- Restart then you should be able to extract the game without any issues
- Enjoy
