It really blows, of all the people to leave it had to be the one who works on Bianca, that flipping hurts. I don't pay attention to the background shit for my own sanity so finding this out is a shock. Also blows that Sophora will never be complete because saying she is finished is a crock of shit. I was waiting patiently for her continuation, hoping to learn more about her and possibly make her part of my crew. Sigh, this year really is hell.

I think Savin is using "feature complete" in the loosest sense, which is "You can get to the Probe and hop to the next planet".

Like fucking hell it's feature complete though. Will wanted to add a whole floor and two companions based around Zheng Shi, he obviously wanted to add in more stuff.

Often I feel that having companion in Trials is a pretty unneeded thing since they are practically unimportant (with only certain few getting something after their recruitment), have pretty much nothing to do with the main quests content and, like the usual issue with how they run things there, usually can't be touched by other authors.

I absolutely do not care if the crew doesn't interact with the main quests lol. I mean it can be neat if they did sometimes, but being Steele's crew member is basically just a guarantee (for me anyways) for replayable sex scenes and new interactions, often with the other crew.

The Main Quests often do have smut in it, in my opinion some of the more interesting ones since unlike with the companions, you can have your Steele be a bit more aggressive.

Also, I'm still rather annoyed that they haven't really touched Azra's actual main content ever again after her release.

If I need to be more detailed in my complaints about the companions, my main issue with them is the lack of proper content with one another and that it seems that most of the authors aren't allowed/supposed to touch each others characters, for example with Ardia (I really would have liked content about getting the rest of the crew into her dom state harem (cause the pc can't do anything similar to that) but I don't actually expect that type of content to be made, like ever) pretty much no one in the crew aside from the dog girls say anything and they don't really say much at all.

Because most of them are abandoned. There's no content for them because there's nobody to write that content.
Just be glad those characters recieved a few additional scenes in the form of becoming crewmembers, instead of being left to rot like the rest of "feature complete" NPCs.

Don't really see that much of a reason to be glad, cause it feels more like a reminder that we won't get more of the companions that I wanted to get more content from.

From what I've read, it seems that Will kept being pushed onto and taken off projects against his will, and then they kept talking dismissively towards him in the comments and forum.

So much of it either outright abandoned or considered "feature complete" and updates for characters that either never came due to writers leaving, burning out, not bothering, or eventually coming out years later sorely lacking.

You would think that between the money coming from both Savin and Fenoxo's Patreons (which is over $60k a month if you combine them both), they'd be able to amass a decent group to actually finish COC2 or TiTs. Hell, the main questlines for both are still unfinished, the thing that's meant to be the centerpiece of your game and you can't even finish that over a 6 to 8 year period? Really?

it's the same as with lilith's throne, the game is likely a nightmare to code and they can coast on patreon money, fenoxo and co(minus savin, a hostile response to any criticism is a bad sign in a coder/writer) are better at development than innoxia is, keep in mind, but they aren't exactly professionals.
