they kept the secret because the ex went rogue and married the other dude and Milly started to show signs that she would be into her father, although after was shown this update the Milly part makes no sense any more, another incredibly dumb decision but it is in the same level of dumb as every other decision so far.
I agree Deb has blame. I really need to go back and read again at some point, cause the way I understand the plot, I'm most pissed at mam and the wife. Mam plans all kinds of sneaky undercover shit behind mc's back. She took the pics of mc and sis and shows it to the wife, and she helps orchestrate the plot to hide the wife. All this out of love supposedly. The wife goes along with everything willingly and then marries another dude and continues to hide.

Yeah, good point. I misunderstood what you meant. MC still was carrying on a long-term affair though. He was lying to his wife for years. Also, I believe it's revealed his mom tried to talk to him about it, and he avoided it. That's why mom took the pics and showed it to the wife so at least wifey would be deciding to accept a marriage from a foundation of truth, as opposed to the foundation of deception the mc was offering.

I don't understand what you meant here, you say that the Mc is not at fault, and for them moving he truly is not since they did an awful job of trying to dissuade him and like you, and I, have said already they beat around the bush instead of telling him "they are gonna kill you and your wife and daughter if you don't shut up", but the Mc is to blame on the why they thought that was their only solution because he was incapable of listening, again it goes both ways, I mostly agree with what you said, I just didn't understand why you think the Mc is blameless, his portion of the blame is small but it is still there, and the families logic is inexistent so most of the blame is with them, also the Deb thing, I'm guessing there is more that we don't know, like why she returned home after the Mc was kicked out and etc... Was she wrong, yeah, but on my book just as bad as the Mc with a lot of the shit he's pulled, again I think there is something more there but I'm not the dev so I can't be sure.

3 years. Don't remember but I'm guessing at least 5. You are correct she just started talking to the ex after the Mc was released from prison, on even longer after that, I'm more sure of after he was released and then just every 3 months, probably to figure out when to tell him is my guess

Thanks. Very helpful. That's the part that irks me out of everything - the wife remains hidden for three years after he's released. And for what? Supposedly because of the daughter's growing sexual attraction to the mc. The fact that mam went along with this makes her look worse considering she was fucking hew own mom and sis herself.
yep, this game's story has a lot of holes in it, maybe in the end it will all make sense once we get the full picture, maybe not, I see this as a good start for the dev though, and am hopeful for this game and future ones, as this one has improved a lot and the dev has shown themselves to be receptive to constructive criticism.
As we've already established, it's not that he was incapable of listening, THEY were incapable of explaining. All they said was "you gotta stop". No reasoning, no explanation. If someone is doing something and all you say is you gotta stop, 9 times out of 10 they're not gonna listen. Probably gonna tell you to fuck off. But if you say "you gotta stop BECAUSE...", then you might get a more reasonable reaction. They didn't. It's almost like talking to children, except adults are worse, because we tend to believe we know what we're doing and that we're right, UNLESS we're provided reasoning or proof to the contrary.
yeah, that is just a difference between how we view it then, for me when someone says "you gotta stop" the first thing I do is ask "why?" so for me the Mc not questioning this, and not thinking about the ramifications of his actions are what put him at fault, also the previously established inability to listen to people or open up to them, the way that he acts just like his mother at times putting the fault in others and believing that only he is in the right(noticed this just now, nice touch dev), so for me he is partially to blame because he set a precedent, the family is 99% to blame though, no doubt about that.
And I can see that point of view. Not going to lie, the way I explained it more often than not is how I tend to react, but there have been times where I'll ask why. Needless to say it's situational. In my mind, he was on a mission and all he saw, despite them being loving family members, were people trying to get in the way of his mission and I guess "assist" in hiding the truth or whatnot.
