VN - Ren'Py - Trouble iN The aRena [Ep.7] [Sir Gary Bummer]

So now that the game have passed his early stage, i think it's time for a proper review.

So there is a lot to say. It started as an humble first game, some things were a bit amateurish.
But the dev made great progress whenever at coding, making and posing 3D asset, and writting.

To get back to the matter at hand, what can you expect from the game?

First and foremost, a very refreshing story telling. It's light hearted, quite funny at times, the characters are very likable. The most surprising thing being, you could expect the MC to be your usual beta, which he's supposed to be, but there is so much derision about it you kinda feel for him at some point. Not in a sad way just because, well, he's funny. Still a Donkey but a likable one.

On the graphic side of it, it started a bit subpar, for the dev was clearly starting out, but he really improved and it's now quite good i must say. At least is it to the level of most of the VN out there. So don't be appaled by the very first scene, it gets better and better.
Also, thank god for choosing a light body type for the main LI. Big boobs and butts gets old Don't worry though cause there is enough character and body type to fit everyone taste.

So yeah, i completely recommend it as long as you don't mind futa and NTR, but even so you might just wanna try it for the fun.

Honestly, you might just wanna keep an eye on this dev career, cause if he keeps improving at this rate, he might just be amongst the best there is 'round here in no time.

This is a really good, well fleshed out characthers like they actually have personalities like a person, also the renders they're hot and cute though i think it'll be nice if scenes are just be a tiny bit longer, can't wait for the future of this game especially the 2 milf hahaha

Don't be put off by the NTR tag if you're not into it. Now, if you do like futa and netori, this is it!

I downloaded this intending to just skip to see the sex scenes, but started reading the first few renders and one hour later I realized that I not only didn't skip anything but also that I had just found a rare gem. And I guess that should tell you something about the writing.

It doesn't take itself too seriously, but it's sexy, funny, witty, mysterious and thoroughly enjoyable. Definitely give it a try.

I was honestly really put off (and kind of still am) by the Honey Select visuals, but after powering through my initial hesitation I found a futa NTR game (of which I am a fan) that was well-written and went at a pace I liked.

That said, the type of NTR did disappoint me. My preference is for the total abandonment of the cuck, which feels evil when I type it out. This game does not do that; instead, the futa fucks and steals the cuck's harem out from under his nose so she can have him to herself. Even with this being the scenario, it doesn't really impact h-scenes, so if you are anything like me I still believe this game is worth playing.

If you don't care either way, however, then this review shouldn't change your thoughts. Just airing my own.

Absolutely deserved five stars.
It´s funny, kinky, has good graphics and some great ideas for animations and the use of perpectives. The mix of fantasy, comedy, futa, light NTR and femdom just works like a charm.
Totally surprised in a positive way of this game.
There are surely games with better graphics,more kinks or a better story. But the mix in this one is pretty unique, which makes it in my opinion Top 10 material.

I can count on one hand how many of these "honey select" style games I actually like. They are mostly filled with crude humor, tasteless themes, and nonsensical writing. This game, however, has interesting dialogue, interesting characters, and a coherent plot. Which already makes it leagues above similar games in this genre.

Diving a bit deeper, I think the choice to make the MC have unlikeable traits works in this game because the author was smart enough to call him out on it several times. In most games, the MC is an annoying douchebag that everyone wants to sleep with. But in this game, the MC is (sometimes) an annoying douchebag that everyone (except for the maid, whom I will talk about shortly), will call him out on or even punish him for being that way, which is a breath of fresh air.

Now lets talk about the maid Ruru, who I think sells this game very well. The author chose to use a writing technique for her character that is most commonly found in horror of all things. And that is the, "do they know?" trope. I don't know what the trope is actually called, but essentially its when an evil character in horror pretends to be unaware of where the protagonist is, meanwhile, tension rises as you slowly learn that this character is aware. A good example of this is in the film 'Inglorius Bastards', where the main antagonist pretends to be unaware of terrified Jewish people hiding beneath the floorboards. The antagonist is kind and jovial even, but slowly becomes terrifying as the audiance learns that he is playing a game. This makes Ruru a very interesting and fascinating character to watch.

I've seen this done in another Honey Select game on this site (which I'm probably not allowed to mention) and I'm curious if the author is a fan of that game as well.

Final note. This isn't important but I just wanted to say that the scene where the character Sveida remarks that she is willing to do "Amatuer-gramming" instead of programming was very witty and well done.

There are quite a few games that try to score with a absurd antics and tongue-in-cheek humor, but they tend to end up failing because they go too far and become too annoying to handle.

This one is luckily able to keep its weirdness contained, so it's pretty funny at times and kind of endearing at others. I especially appreciate how the cucking is neither cruel nor exclusive; the people around the MC are getting corrupted by the same person that is trying to seduce him, so it falls into this strange relationship where you get the morbid curiosity of cheating and partner stealing without a messy or depressing story. He doesn't even seem to care much about his lover, since he's mostly focused on making his dick bigger to be more confident and loose his virginity, and the latter can happen if you make the choice. I feel like it will lean more heavily on netorase or sharing as it goes on, considering how lighthearted the plot is.

The renders are sometimes a bit faulty, but overall a pretty cool-looking game. Also, a major bonus that the best waifu is the maid.

Absolute positive surprise. The renders are very cool, it scratches a lot of kinks many people have and above all, the demoness is hella cute. It also has nicely done lewd scenes.

Ngl, I would like to see her top MC as well. But even if not, corrupting the princess is good enough lol.

All in all, we will be watching your career with great interest.

I didn't expect this game to be so good, each character has a pretty nice personality and the interaction between them is really fun, I expected the protagonist to end up being the typical stupid boy that no one likes (And he is) but I like that in Instead of making me angry, his personality and aptitude make me laugh.

I also hope that the maid ends up having a softer side and becomes attached to the girls in the story, it would be good character development.

Probably my favorite futa game on the platform, even though I'm normally not into NTR at all. To me, it feels more like a multiple protag game with the main focus being the futa maid.
The game provides decent animations, very good and unique renders and lots of character variety.
While the story is nothing groundbreaking, the comedy is actually pretty well done, which is rare for an adult game. The pacing is also decently fast so you won't have to wait long for scenes.
All in all, easy 5/5 for me.

Is the game good? Yes. Do I recommend it? Yes.

Do you like NTR? Do you like heroines getting corrupted? Do you like futas?

Before anybody gets up in arms proclaiming to the world that they are no loser betacuck virgin so no they won't play the game, I have an advice for you: learn how to disassociate. Just like when you're reading a book, you're not the main character - you're just a random person looking in from far away, reading the characters' conversations exactly like a silent observer behind a computer screen. That was easy, wasn't it?

Now if the answer is yes to at least one of the three questions, this is the game for you. What this game excels in is its writing followed by its visuals. The game is essentially a nukige - a jerk off game - so that's how I'll be rating it but in spite of that the writing is surprisingly well done.

Surprising how? Most Western creators tend to rely too much on their visuals, their renders and animations in making their sex scenes hot. If you've played some Japanese nukiges, you know how good their obscene dialogues and graphic descriptions can be, and coupled with their sounds, it makes the whole experience so much more exciting even with just still images.

The writing here is more similar to that and that's what makes it so good. As much of a sucker as I am for good looking renders, writing - especially dialogue - is where I tend to pay more attention because if I don't like it? The game's automatically an unread text skip. That's not the case here, the dialogue is entertaining even when the scene is not sexual and that is a huge positive because the point of an adult game is sex and if the writing outside of sex is great? That's not to include the dialogue for the corruption and sex scenes, those are even better! And I believe that in a game where corruption is one of the, if not, main theme - writing NEEDS to be good and that's exactly what happens.

Next are the characters but before that, if anyone else is still hung-up on the NTR here's another advice: instead of thinking that the shortstack is the MC, think that the MC is Ruru. With this, the netorare becomes netori. Now each character is unique and not in a woke kind of way, they do follow archetypes loosely and that's totally fine - archetypes exist for a reason.

The visuals are good, they're no 8k rendered images no but they are very appealing. Each girl is hot and they all have different body types which is always a plus, the only good kind of diversity in my opinion. As for the sex scenes, they're all very exciting and combined with the surprisingly good dialogue, they're incredibly well done. A 5 star all the way.

My message to Sir Gary Bummer: Keep up the good work! Everything's been good so far and even if you draw up some crazy plot device (which seems to be what you're setting up for) so long as the dialogue isn't neglected and either stays the same or better yet improves, the story and its pacing won't suffer for it.

I typically never play NTR-focused games, and even after playing this game I have no plans to. However, this game is so funny and well-written that even the most ardent-NTR hater could probably enjoy it.

I do wish the mc was a little less dweeby looking, but thats kind of a staple of the genre and does add to the comedy. Other than that, all the girls look great, the demon maid is such a great character and I don't even mind all the NTR as long as we end up together

pacing, check. Writting, intriging and sexy art style? Check. Narrative that delivers with angles, choice and fantasy setting suberb and just plain fiery hotness (shamlessly) oh boy do I ever. A gem, a find, will be returning and subbing asap.

Massively underrated.

It's genuinely amusing whilst carrying on with it's enjoyable story and characters without skimping on the h-scenes.

It's all very toungue-in-cheek in a fun way whilst also managing to be sexy. It's also one of the last games on here that I'm still bothering to check for updates having given up on the rest.

good comedical game with ( mostly) funny jokes, I really liked characters, tiefling-maid is awesome. really love the variety of girls. Simple story, good variable sex scenes. But sadly short, best 2 hours I spent on this site

This is simply a great game, with awesome renders and a pretty solid story. The only downside for me is that it's quite slow. Not extremely slow, I mean, I've seen way worse, but yeah, it teases a LOT, and deliveres quite late. Anyways stupidly good game.

Excellent Futa corruption game.
Technically tagged NTR but it's really a multiple protag game with the NTR antagonist getting just as much if not more screen time. The choices you make, however are exclusive to the MC and you can get a bit of action or play him as a hopeless dope, which is more fun imo. As an FYI though anyone hoping for the MC to be able to forestall the futa from getting hers will be disappointed, the game is really about her having her fun.
The characters are fairly stereotypical but well done with that framework and engaging and the NTR antagonists is very well done and compelling and a lot of fun.
the corruption and sex scenes are great and there is a nice mix of sneak sex/mystery NTR and just giving us the antagonists viewpoint as she slowly corrupts everyone around the MC.
The visuals are good, not top notch but everything is framed an lit well and the sex scenes are hot
overall recommended for anyone that likes futa content or NTR content. Not recommended for anyone that has a severe averson to NTR though for the most part the tone of the game is humorous and not terribly mean spirited so i think people who only have a mild aversion to NTR but like futa and corruption should give it a shot

Futa NTR is so difficult to find, so I'm glad this game is fantastic at portraying it. The slow corruption and mystery elements add so much fun to the game and even from an omniscient reader's viewpoint, seeing the MC oblivious to Ruru's (the maid) tactics is amazing.
Gotta love the slow cirruption of the princess and the other characters. Personally, my favorite is Ruru's corruption of the corruption of the princess, but having the side characters also adds a lot more depth to the story.

Overall, as of update 4.0, I've really liked the game so far and hope you continue to make similar great NTR scenes in the future, dev. Good luck

This truly is excellent game, writing, scenes and everything is great. I LoLed few times, characters are different and very well written,.

It has the advantage of more POV, not just MC, so you see as your dear maid takes advantage of other characters, bydifferent means by their personality.

Normaly I just ctrl trough most games as writing is sub par, here tho I was forced to read it all and then wait for another great update.

A lot of Porn Renpy VN's on this site with a few notable exceptions (Demons of the Hearth and Divine Dawn come to mind as recent enough exceptions) Have pretty mediocre writing, where they don't really try to do much other than setting up for the next porn scene and while I don't think this one tries to go for either of the Examples' ambitions for a grand narrative, it's exchanges that for really tight writing and just being really incredibly funny.

What this Visual Novel does it is has it's Gimmic (Futa NTR except the Futa wants you), and tries to have as much fun with it as possible; Enjoying itself so thoroughly, so very successfully, making what this story lacks in many small divergent paths it more than makes up for in just sheer enjoyably and fun of the writing and scenarios, I was glad to play chapter 3 and look forward to more.
