It's like he's a Kishimoto or Oda. No matter how long it takes, he will always have supporters. It currently has around 600 contributors. He earns around 3 thousand dollars a month. This is not an excuse, just a reminder. Most of these "devs" are part-timers and they do not know how to manage a project or they take on too much.

If we were actually dealing with professionals, most of these issues would not exist.

This is really the core of the issue. If these devs would simply storyboard their games first we wouldn't see so many abandoned projects. It's pure hubris. These guys think they can just improvise a story from beginning to end. That also explains why we see so many overly verbose games too.
