I finished playing the game, it's really good since it's a slow burn game and not a super fast burn game. I don't want to criticize other games, they're also good in their own way, it's just that they all have their pros and cons and there are many in which they haven't even spent 2 or 3 minutes and they've already thrown themselves into half the city.

I found it strange that almost no one talked about his previous abandoned game in this thread and it wasn't in the OP.
I was 80% sure he would abandon this game after 4 updates (and he did 5 ahah) and he will do the same again if he makes another game.

Or the simple answer is that he's just abandoned it like last time, if he ever comes back he will probably start a new game.. just like last time

Beyond the constant delays and disappearances, another clue that the dev was gonna abandon the game was the fact that his dev plans made 0 sense.
For people that don't know, Cloudlet planned for this game to have 3 chapters. Chapter 1 was supposed to be a kinetic novel, chapter 2 a visual novel and chapter 3 was going to be sandbox. This, plus the fact that he constantly tried to change engines was a guaranteed abandoned tag.
I think even if he comes back, he's just gonna push another short update and disappear again. 0 chances for him to ever complete this game.

so why to change anything? people/patrons/supporters get games/devs they deserve (and support)
Sure he was obviously lying, but frankly I'm not sure if milking was ever a likely motivation for this dev simply because he never had that many supporters to begin with. The most he ever made was like $600 a month, which sure might still be more than he deserved, but he wasn't getting rich off of this.so why to change anything? people/patrons/supporters get games/devs they deserve (and support)
I think it's a combination of having plans he can't put into practice because of limited tech skills (the dev already said he couldn't figure out how to make Ren'py work), writer's block and potentially life getting in the way (from what I remember he was a student). Also I just think he got burned out and lost interest. The game started around the time of COVID being a big thing, he probably has other things in his life nowadays to occupy his time with.
