That's not the clunky part of it. With something like that vacation mode where a dev could theoretically stop the billing pause at any point it would be kind of weird if the subscribers wouldn't need to confirm to be charged again. No idea how it works on Patreon, but I would be kind of surprised if it where much different.

The clunky part of it is that people that haven't been charged for over a year still get displayed as subscribers with no way for me to remove them. And that's not only the case for the numbers you can see but also my analytics or the projected amount of the payout page.
Ok for the analytics, they still count as active subscribers even though they are really not.

AFAIK on patreon you can pause the next billing but have to do so every month if it lasts longer. And the billings after next continue without the need for subscribers to confirm.

Definitely sounds not unintentional - the kind of numbers-fudging that little-brother competitors routinely do to fluff up their numbers hoping to dupe gullible investors into thinking they are a bigger player than the real numbers would say they are. "We have X paying subscribers!!" when in reality that is the total number of subscribers they have ever had and not the currently active number.

That comes to a total of $2932, with a 5% cut that is $2785.4 monthly and $33424.8 annually.
Roughly 30% Americans earn less then this, this is basically a full time pay of a avarage person.
That's NOT a hobby pay, and if he is NOT a American and from other areas that pay much less, than thats a hell of a pay check.
Even with the understanding from BaiBai_ that this number is almost twice the actual number, this number is no where near what the average person in the U.S. is making. I'm pretty sure that's true even if you include all of the employable people who are not working at all. Got any cites?

Regardless, if he makes just a bit over half of that number as stated, we're probably in the $18K range. That's just barely above the poverty line for a single individual in the U.S.

My opinion is that games and devs are so varied that I have no expectations. I have only played a very small percentage of the games out there, but I prefer more substantive updates to microupdates I guess, so I probably fall into the 'more patient' category of players. DL-ing and extracting updates that turn out to be 20 renders and one animation I find a bit irritating (especially given that the risk of malware is obviously higher if you DL 10+ small updates/year instead of 2 larger updates.

I guess I just generally always hope for updates to content I like rather than demanding them, and I try not to apply expectations based on the release schedule of game "X" or "Y" to any other games I like because the dev is different and that is just not realistic. I will admit that for me and my old brain once you start to hit gaps of close to a year between updates I have probably completely forgotten about your game, but those are the choices/risks that devs have to make for themselves based on numerous factors that we know nothing about in their personal lives. I have had enough bad shit go down in my life that I would never be comfortable insisting that a dev meet any schedule demanded by fans (who don't know anything about that dev's life).

Most of your opinion i agree with you.

f2p is not always bad thing, bring crow of people who have the money to support game that. that's how gacha earn a lot money.
Not all f2p complaint are invalid. if you over look valid f2p complaint your game die soon then you think.

These how I see issue on these currently, dev said he will improve from late update he failed. if players said that's issue that valid complaint, dev said himself no one point gun head tell him to do so. Doesn't matter how shitty your life is, if you do bad job as your workplace the boss will call you out and talk shit about you that irl. if you can take the heat getting out the kitchen.

dev need to stop make large update take long period time. these not just porn game, if the game with story take forever to release the players will forget story, down the road you will losing players. other downside of long period release players have high expectation if you can't meet that... i don't think i need to say, you already know will have happen in future.

no no guys im pretty sure the person whose sources are
1. an LLM that tells people to eat rocks
2. nothing
is very correct about not only the larger game development industry but also the indie scene, and even more specifically the scene focused on NSFW games, which is further narrowed down by being heavily incest focused (which removes some platforms available in those higher levels)

nobody point out that the smrt guy literally makes his point mute when the llm says "SOMETIMES YEARS FOR SOLO DEVS" literally cant write this shit

The most surprising thing is that baibai responded to such obvious bait :HideThePain:
I don't think it was bait (at least not intentionally).
Guy was probably just talking out of his ass without thinking things through.
