I'm not a patron so I can't comment on the poll, so I'll comment here. I prefer the semi-transparent textboxes (about halfway between the 2 pictures you posted with the poll), because it allows you to see the background picture but also allows you to see the text regardless of the color of the background. I also prefer the darker textboxes over the lighter/whiter textboxes because it's easier for me to read white text on black than black text on white.

If by UI you also mean text box color/opacity, you could add a slider in the options for it. I've seen a few Renpy games with that option. Perhaps you could look into that. That way everyone is happy...at least with the text box.

Yeah don't worry about that, I already add an option in settings for players to adjust the textbox opacity, font, and stuff like that. This way player that wants to play with transparent textbox can adjust it to the way that they like Like I said before, I always research about what my player wants for the game before making any decisions
