given the initial post being from 2020 id wager the first number after the . is the year of development
Versions 0.1.X and 0.2.X came to refer to the periods where I was building the core of the game's code and the introduction to the story. 0.3.X was used for the development of the Gleaming Caverns adventure and surrounding weeks, 0.4.X is being used for the Shartrish Slopes, and each following number will refer to each following adventure, with 0.9.X being used for the Epilogue. Hopefully it won't take me to 2029 to get there
and given the two person team at 2k a month they likely have other jobs " Game Design, Programming, Writing and Direction" under one person is a pretty big weight for something this detailed, and the care they look to be putting in to find and eradicating bugs is refreshing.
All my income right now comes from the game. If I had to put energy into another job I'd end up too exhausted to achieve consistent progress. Chili Cherry only works on the game a few hours a week. She and I both want her to put in more time, but after Patreon's cut and taxes there's honestly not much money left.
As for the bugs: if you don't put a substantial amount of effort into fixing bugs in a game with several intertwined gameplay systems, it immediately becomes unplayable. If I didn't have the good will of a playerbase that accepts that the game may suddenly break and even puts in some effort to help me locate the rarer bugs, making this game would be hell.
I think it's just frowned upon here. If the author is good, actually talks here, doesn't paywall stuff for too long - it's not uncommon to hold off pirating the newest version. After all, imagine the dev's face when you just pirate the newest version, right before his eyes, despite him talking to people here? You gotta encourage good authors when they do good stuff.
I don't want to demonize anyone for pirating the Supporter versions, whether it is because they're constrained with money or because they literally cannot pay, but if you like the game enough that you decide to look for a way to pirate them, please consider supporting our work when it becomes possible.
