This is my favorite college themed game, in my opinion it's even better than a very famous other game about basically the same thing.
The reason for that is twofold.
a) I like the female character models a lot in this game, all of them have more or less realistic proportions even if the waists are maybe a tad too thin, but you won't find cartoonish proportions here and no exaggerated body parts - and each and every LI is pretty unique and very beautiful
b) the female teacher is an outstanding character with a great arc and really fantastic scenes later on, this was easily one of the most emotionally rewarding and satisfying parts of the entire game
The game also has a good mix of slow burn characters and characters with whom you can engage with a lot faster, but not to the point of absurdity. It's absolutely believable that a freshman college boy would more or less feel instant attraction to Carol, for example, one of the earliest love interests you can interact with. She's just very, very sweet and very attractive.
You do get more or less your stereotypical archetypes here, so the characters are nothing you haven't seen elsewhere probably, but all of them are well written, in my opinion.
Another thing I liked is that the MC hates fraternities and will not join one, so there are no inane and silly hazing rituals or stupid interactions with even stupider fraternity members. Instead one major arc in the game is about trying to prevent a female character from joining a less than wholesome sorority. Main love love interest Carol is the president, but she's basically a mascot and has no real power, since someone else pulls the strings, but it offers some (mild) conflict and is a major plot point in Carol's arc.
You also get the very shy girls, there are virgins, but all of them are different kinds of adorable and sweet.
UoP is certainly a wholesome game, for the most part, some things here and there can be a bit nasty (the sorority), but it adds some necessary plot and conflict to the game.
And as mentioned above the teacher Rachel is certainly one of the most attractive and interesting "milf" teacher characters in any VN I played. Yes, her arc is of course nothing new, her husband is basically the usual idiot and Rachel will leave him and, if you play your cards right, succumb to the charms of the MC, but her romance is really sweet and wholesome through and through.
You may even feel actually bad about having more than just one relationship when you engage with Rachel (but you can say the same about virtually all love interests). Depending on preference you may want to focus on just a few characters in one playthrough since fooling around with everyone may feel very wrong. Especially with one character who was hurt very badly in her previous relationship by a real scumbag... but if your MC dates girls left and right he will not really be any better, so if you want her, it may be wise to focus on her.
Love interests are entirely optional, you can pick and choose. My MC loves to flirt with disaster so he is currently dating Rachel, Carol and he's giving sex education lessons to a third LI, Ashley, let's see if or how things blow up in his face. But I hope not and that either there is a proper harem and/or the option to amicably break up with someone so you can choose a solo route eventually. If forced to choose my MC would probably go for Rachel. She's just all kinds of awesome. But Carol would certainly pick up a fight. It's a close call between the two for me. Your tastes may of course differ.
Carol is also (despite her involvement with the sorority and being a top cheerleader) quite sweet, there are no bitchy attitudes and it's easy to like her, even if you can get closer to her pretty early in the game which often means the character is a bit superficial, not so here.
Some other characters may act much more reserved or very reluctant early in the game, but over the course of the story they do warm up and become much more friendly.
There are animations of course. There are also options for kinks, you can avoid things you don't like which is always a huge plus and there are no negatives if you tell a LI you don't like certain things.
All in all University of Problems is one of the rare top level VNs and it's especially recommended if you enjoy overall wholesome games. If you do not care so much for vanilla or lovey dovey then UoP may not entirely be your cup of tea, but if you enjoy wholesome content combined with really great looking love interests which are all unique, then University of Problems should be something you will enjoy immensely. It's currently one of the best slice of life college themed VNs in my opinion, even the very best in many ways.
