My English is bad so if you could explain to me what "DPC" means? As for other things i have to disagree. No one said here that CB isn't working or something like that. Simply players said that for 10 months +/- to little content and play time was deliverd. And regardles of how much dev of BADIK earned he did make sure to put hard work and deliver huge update. Whether his games are on Steam or GOG, the guy made sure to put full efort and that's why he's in position he curently is. And saying that comparing devs is the worst example simply isn't walid argument. Players should compare devs with other devs. On the level of quality, playtime, delivery and so on.
DPC is Dr. Pinkcake, the developer of Being a DIK.
And your comparison still sucks.

That you have no right to complain? Why do you say that? it's as if you were telling me that art critics have to buy the artwork in order to be able to criticize it. You have every right to give your opinion about something. Whether it is good or bad.
Most people are not criticizing the update. They're attacking the time it took to make.

Which is stupid. No one artist is equal when creating. For one thing, some are doing this fulltime, some are not. Some have multiples computers, some have only one. And even at equal means, the act of creation is something that varies greatly between individuals.

Some people can make 10 symphonies in a year.
For some it takes a lifetime.

1. Unleashed is different.
2. It is not for everyone.

"It took too long!" Yeah, no shit. I mean, I guess you guys can keep bitching about it if it makes you feel better, but it accomplishes nothing. Things are not going to move faster because of your bitching. Things will hopefully move faster, but I assure you that it will have nothing whatsoever to do with your complaining.

"There's no sex yet!" See 1. If you're looking for a game to skip ahead and get to the fapping parts, see 2.

"Things aren't advancing!" See 1. First, if you think things did not advance in this update, then this VN is definitely 2 for you. Second, there's no plot to advance.

What I want to accomplish with Unleashed is building a VN where the characters are real. I want them to seem like real people, with their own personalities, character traits, senses of humor, flaws, everything. That is what this VN is about. If you want it to be about finding some bitches and bangin' 'em... well, then, Oh Long Johnson, this VN is not for you. :)
Well, seems the thread is pretty busy today... lot of whiners it seems.

Whatever. For those who might be interested I've just updated the French translation of the game. You can find it here. As always, it's 100% handmade. Hope you'll enjoy it.

Oh and thanks to CarbonBlue for this update. It was great and funny, like the previous ones. Good job mate. (y)

Just found this game and, other than a few typos (I've never corrected them in a game before but would be more than willing to help if needed) I LOVE THIS GAME!!! Your writing style is clever and fun and the characters are very well developed. It has plenty of action with out being click porn and story is very entertaining. Can't wait for more!

Again, if you making a game for the passion and whatnot, and have other obligations to fill, why would you make a patreon for it? That just isn't a good look. That's all I'm getting at about this whole situation.

Also to say the game is different, I will say this is one of the few games that actually has me laughing legit over just lil silly shit, but it's not too different. And I swear if ole buddy says it's different cuz it's gonna take longer just to sex whatever, I'mma be sick. :KEK: You know how many games on here are "Different" in that regard? Yea, no.

I hope I don't have to explain the patreon situation further. I hope people are competent enough to understand the gripe with that.

Well, I wanted to write a novel but I just don't have it in me. Angel is a terrible friend to Shannon and we've only seen Shannon try to be the best friend she can to Angel. It's really sad honestly. I'm not sure what the female equivalent of "bros before hoes" is but Angel violated that heavily, just a mere matter of hours after she saw Shannon try to kiss MC on his bed. Then in this update she forces Shannon to expose herself to MC, which is fine if you're a Shannon fan but if you're not, she just exposed herself to some dude she barely knows that doesn't even like her, which is obviously not going to help her clearly low self esteem.
naww i disagree .. ever hear of 2 close friends that fuck with each other .. not meaning anything severely bad by it .... dam i have a shit ton of friends that do that exact same thing :)
and yeah i like all the characters in game so far .... love Shannon's character .. Mom next then Mauve ... and to hear it from Angel .. Shannon did make in do things from a bet .. if i remember right ... so why not get a lil payback thinks Angel .... i'm fine with how they interact

Was that self irony? :D Really, i loaded my last save and the date of it was... March the 30th 2021. Quite a coincidence.
There's another one when Sugar says she's not going to drive her mom around anymore.

How do you storyboard actually? Currently writing/working on my own premise. And I like the snappy comedic scenes.
Comedy wise I do favor this approach but not sure how to go about it myself.
So this is it...
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
This is how I write Unleashed. What's in between the <> is the description of the scene. I often don't need a description because the script tells me what's going on. Sugar is obviously surprised with a "What?!" so I render Sugar reacting to Cin(namon). I write out the script and try to keep ahead of the rendering enough to always have rendering work to do, since posing is where all the time is spent. But then things change. Often they change a lot. As I'm going through rendering I'm editing, coming up with new scenes, new lines.

In this particular scene I originally wrote them going out to the car, then fade to home. But then I'm thinking of how Oh Long Johnson wants to present himself as this badass and I loved this thought that he's certain his car is a chick magnet and he has this way of just glossing over the reality of the situation that this is the first girl who's been in his car. So usually if you see a render with a, b, c in the name, that's a render that was not originally planned. The * just means it's ready for batch render. Before the render is complete that line is red, after it's complete it's purple.

So for me with Unleashed it all starts with the characters. It's supremely important to know who the characters are beforehand. They can evolve and change over time, of course, but writing them is a matter of just knowing who they are and how they would react to any particular situation. Then it's just about putting them into situations and writing not how you want them to respond, but how their character would respond, if that makes sense.

Also, as a writing professor of mine told me a long time ago, writing is editing. But it's really important to write something down. Anything. Just write it down. Then the editing does not stop until I hit the "Build" button on renpy.

Good luck with your project!

Thanks, I often know what direction I wanna go, just always struggle with presentation and kinda run flat by pushing forward to much.

And characters that have personality and great expressions and body language I find very important for a medium like this, especially with stil images in a way. And you present that really well.

You're saying if you enjoy your work you shouldn't get paid for it. That's nuts. I have a Patreon because I put hours and hours of work into this. It might not be as many hours as people who work full time on their games, but the more support I get on Patreon the less I have to work.

Additionally, the tools for this passion project are a little on the expensive side. 3090s ain't cheap. And I only have one. As things progress I'm going to need another (or a 4xxx series if/when those come out.)

I hope I don't have to explain the patreon situation further. I hope people are competent enough to understand the gripe with that.
No I think people are competent enough to understand you. It's just that "why should someone who puts hundreds of hours and several thousands of dollars into a project get voluntary donations for it?" is profoundly nonsensical.

I was under the impression that on top of all the other things you have to fulfill, this was a side-side-side hobby that you do every once and a while. That's what I got from what other people were saying on the thread on here. If that's not the case, then my bad on that part.

Fastest 5 minutes i've ever played in a vn. I'm glad i'm not attached to this "side project/hobby" shit because damn if i run a patreon and can't even put out content worthy of the money i'll be getting i don't how devs(i'm not saying names) still has the conscience to keep it open.
But then again, this is F95 which is basically a piracy website. Good luck to the folks that got invested to this stuff. Do enjoy this year's worth of content lmao

What does how productive you are have to do with the right of opinion? That's right nothing, they are totally separate issues.
