And that's why those three letters are often given special treatment - ie. "preemptive strike" - by some mods.good point..... but does it work? Just drop certain three letters and hell breaks loose

The defining characteristic is that members of the harem are in a relationship exclusively with the MC, sure they can have fun with other members in the harem, but the key point is that their in a relationship with MC and their reason for having fun with the other harem members is in due of each others connection to the MC.I don't think the defining characteristic of a harem is that the members aren't allowed to or don't want to sleep with anyone else, just that a primary character ends up the central figure of a number of other characters' affections. And I don't think them being into the central character negates the possibility of them being interested in others.
Wholeheartedly agree with point one. Not with point two, though that's because I value character continuity and hate plastic Kardashian-esque pornstar faces and bodies, which most twine games use. Maybe if a dev found a goldmine of good amateur porn with the same consistent models both clothed and unclothed in a huge variety of poses and scenarios for continuity. Till then, non-anime 2d art ftw.-Anime (and its 3D equivalent) is an unsexy art style and actively lowers my enjoyment of the game.
-Twine + real porn is my favorite story format.
Mine too.-Twine + real porn is my favorite story format.
YesUh, wouldn't patreon be in that category as well?
I actually agree with you other than a few select parts like the Cece stuff I felt like it was just average. Then I thought the ending was rushed and should of been longer. While we do get epilogue endings I still didn't feel like we got a good conclusion since to me it felt like it ended out of no where.Leap of Faith is one of the most overrated games on this site. Fun game, not bad by any means, but people talk about it like it's God's gift to the universe.
yep, Cece is a top 10 (maybe top 5) character on this site, imo. Almost everything else, however? Above average at best.I actually agree with you other than a few select parts like the Cece stuff I felt like it was just average. Then I thought the ending was rushed and should of been longer. Funny thing is I been recently branching out looking for NTR / sharing games just for something different since nothing is a turn off for me as im pretty open minded. My first true NTR / sharing game actually had a good story. While yes the game would be good even without that kink in it. But the way it introduced those themes actually made the game enjoyable wasn't just jumping from lewd scene to lewd to shoe horn that kink.Probably unpopular in a different sense, but I don't hate NTR on principle. What makes games with them so completely unappealing in my eyes is that the whole cuck narrative, the typical stories and stock characters they use, are so stupid and uninteresting that I don't want to bother engaging with it. There's plenty of human drama to be explored with a narrative that uses infidelity as a theme, but it's literally always the exact same 'cartoon villain guy corrupts the overly pure wife/girlfriend of some clueless moron' thing.
I've seen over and over again that if you've got a cool story you can make the kink work whether or not I'm into it on principle. Though the opposite can be true, too, sometimes a bad fetish just drags down an otherwise good game, but NTR's problem is that it's bad stories + a polarizing fetish.
I think that this applies to anything rewarding partial development. Even praising or, like another poster said, patreon.f95zone is a detriment to the environment of h game development by creating a too large to ignore audience with a system that actively discourages finishing games.
I think my favorite kind of games are those that include what would be described as somewhat ntrish scenes, but not explicitly about a "Stealing a girlfriend" fetish - more just that it's an open ended world, where indeed other people have sex, but not always in a malicious context. Just like the real world, there will be other npcs with bad intentions, and other npcs with good intentions. Examples would be like Runaway Princess or many of the LoP games.Funny thing is I been recently branching out looking for NTR / sharing games just for something different since nothing is a turn off for me as im pretty open minded. Unlike the other game ive tried with the same concept tho the second game I tried was enjoyable just because they made fun scenarios' or the wife was fun tho was just lewd scene to lewd scene and no real story. So I totally see what you mean by uninteresting or stupid characters cause tbh the second game I tried not one character was interesting. If wasn't for the wife or scenario's just being fun to read would of dropped it so fast.
