Unbelievable, I did it. Right after repairing Windows, I tested it again and it was gone. I thought, “It's done.” But shortly after, it was back again. So it had to be an external program from autostart. I looked at which programs were open and deactivated them one by one: the culprit was “Trio Office: DOCX & XLSX Editor” and I can't remember installing this crap. That stupid thing cost me days of time and nerves. Thanks again for your help, guys! (y)

No surprise. Story time:
In the past there was a time period(10-15Y) where man people cried about unwanted browser bars, sometimes even never heard of AV software or some PDF thingy or Emoji helper shit. This was the outcome of a behavior commonly, loosely called "next, next, done" (de:weiter, weiter, fertig), which people did, for some reason, when installing any software etc.

They got the install running, made "maybe" some adjustments to path etc, but did mostly not read whats on the screen. Then at some point/page was this "we install now also this or that shit cost free/ as bonus" displayed and you needed to opt out or got the shit slapped on. But instead, the people did not see it and clicked fast on "next", then again... and later done. Et voila!

Just think if you installed recently some other thing or had some dialog where you did not really pay attention. It happens fast and easily. To anyone of us if we don't read and take the time. I mean, does anyone read the AGB or whats called in EN or knows whats in it? *Purely rhetorical* Right. If they sneak at some point a installer in there, the society burns. ;)

I remember when "save as PDF" wasn't a thing in MS Word so we used to install a virtual printer to create the PDF using the print command in Word.

It was free, downloaded from SourceForge somehow trusted, and it had a bloatware in its installer.

One page of the installer had the icon of the bloatware with the checkbox "also install this unwanted shit" that used to be checked by default.
So everyone learnt to uncheck it.

So in newest releases the checkbox was changed to "I want to opt out from installing this unwanted shit" but - this was the genius move - it was still checked by default, so most of us kept unchecking without reading it (just recognising the icon of the bloatware) thinking of disabling the installation while we were enabling it.

For anyone interested (Sam), here is the new version of unrpyc - dev branch, version 2.0.2 with the . I checked it out - it decompiles rpyc version 8.4.1 without any problems.

By the way, don't trust any passer-by like me (who knows what I put in python script), wait for it to be checked by knowledgeable people before using it.

An important addition: I couldn't pull it through git, so I did everything manually, so I may have missed something. I tested it on five games of different versions (two 8.4.1, one 7.x.x) and all files were decompiled. But as they say, use at your own risk.

Thanks a lot for this mini tool. It works perfectly ! I was having troubles in a game that didn't allow roll back so you were stuck with your decision. Now with this tool, the game has become more playable for me.

Scratch the below.
I was thinking you'd updated unren.bat, which I have also modified privately. But you updated one of the tools it uses instead.
Please ignore me.

Heh, I'm still on v1.0.10 and was looking for the latest.

I made a number of changes to my copy that I'd like to propose, but I haven't staged them - dumping all changes at once would be havoc. Now it seems I should try out your version and see if my changes are even needed anymore (or wanted).

Oh well, I'll get around to it some day.

Using on the game projectATMOSPHERE-0.4-P5-beta-pc-compressed.zip :
https://f95zone.to/threads/project-atmosphere-v0-4-p5-beta2-dr-mad.49245/post-17417775

this error occurs:

object type : 00007ffda5c8bef0
object type name: AttributeError
object repr : AttributeError("module 'renpy' has no attribute 'object'")
The 1.0.11d is obsolete now, use mine, see my sig. I've tested with your compressed version without problem
