Ah ok, thanks. Didn't knows this app, but in the end its anyway useless for me on linux.
I was basically just curious and this one makes me even cringe with the paying thing. In the end i would partly pay for my own work. I know, i know. Wrong forum for such complaints.
estrada777 Merkitas Yes, this is unfortunately to expect with current Unren tools. They need to update the included decompiler. And merkitas mad the right call with unrpyc.
Also, i would advice, if you use the combined option like 8, and you get errors, to try the tasks in single mode. This way you see which task exactly the error throws.

Little tip on this:
The Unrpyc master branch represents always the state of the current release. If a user encounters problems with the release he can always look if the dev branch additional fixes has and try if it better works. (However the injector variant must then be self compiled. {Easy})

Exactly for what the old version is: Pre RenP'y v7.5 and the game is v7.4.x . The normal Unren is only for v7.5 and higher versions.
Once upon a time the first post of the tread had a info for this. Dont know why its missing now.

UnRen-forall is not updated for the last Ren'Py versions (v7.7.x and v8.2.x) and some of the games with this Version do error. To get them cleanly decompiled you need to do it "manually" with last recent unrpyc v1.3.x for Ren'Py 7.x and unrpyc v2.x for Ren'Py 8.x .

I tried to unpack the rpa archives of this game, Afterlife Harem [v0.4.2] [Aph]
using urenforall 9.4 , but it reports an error and didn't unpack anything

It refers to the unpacking of RPAs, not the decompiling. A very trivial UnRen-ultrahackv14.bat from 2 years ago unpacked everything.read the answer just above yours
Generally, old Unren can unpack even rencent RPAs.

Seems unrenpyc the command line tool can now decompile ren'py 8 and 7 games, and even a significant amount of ren'py 6 games. It still requires just python 3. It also includes some significant internal changes to the tool architecture, and improved error reporting, next to some small bugfixes. VepsrP

Its a bit big with 5.7GB to DL just for a small check i need to do... Could you open a RPA of this game with a simple editor in text view mode and cite the first line? Should look somewhat like this:
RPA-3.0 000000000011a299 42424242The RPA format (RPA3) of Ren'Py changed NOT for ~15 years. If a games developer did not play/frak around with it, most RPA-tools should be able to unpack it. There are three simple, full CLI unpackers out there which DO work:

I want just to clear a small misunderstanding about unrpyc.
- unrpyc v2.x.x = Ren'Py 8 with Python 3 (new main/base app variant) {Ren'Py v7.7.x is AFAIK the last version with python 2}
- unrpyc v1.3.x = Ren'Py 7 and below with Python 2 (legacy app variant for support of old stuff)

From outside the forum looks so old. I think that I have no desire to enter the forum at all. Since this is an old forum based on the current date. Which tends to stop me from entering this forum, but of course I also need new software, so I've started looking. I don't know why, if it's just me, but anything that's outdated gives me goosebumps.
