Is this mod change the story too much? I like the netori parts of the originsl game and I want a mod which keep them. For exemple other mods doesn't have a netori story about ginger handywoman. Is this mod what I'm looking for?

I'm experiencing a problem at the beginning of the game. I went to the kitchen and picked up the phone as instructed. Then, I received a text prompt asking me to test something in the bathroom with my mother. However, I'm unable to proceed because there's no one else in the room, and I can't take any further actions at this point. Is this how it's supposed to be?
