Most of us actually do pay - even if it's not Nergal, we support other devs and thus expect consistent releases and promises to be kept. Most people in this forum are seriously laughable for real. Unless you're a subscriber to ANY dev and you've paid money, you shouldn't be expecting anything. The updates will be released when they are released and delays happen for whatever reason. Even if a game is abandoned people have no reason to cry about it if they haven't paid a single cent. There are proper channels for people who pay and don't get their product to both complain and act on it. So stop whining, be patient and be grateful any of these games gets releases. In the meantime, find something else to fap to.
Imagine this: you're the CEO of a company. You hire a guy called John (if your actual name is John and reading this, I have nothing against you. Probably).
John does not do what he promises - he fails to keep you updated on the projects and it's a very niche market and you're desperate for John's help. But John does not work. He does not keep you updated on what the hell is taking him so long. But he still demands you pay him every single month. But he has not a damn thing to show for it.
Would you enjoy that?
No?
How odd - just go find another person to do that job! Clearly it's no harder than that, using your own words.
I don't say that Nergal's game is a niche - far from it. I'm literally just here because like I mentioned last page, it's thanks to the original Urban Demons I found this site. If I had found this site through literally any other means, I would not have cared about the remake.
If you're a content creator, you need to keep any form of promise made or keep people in the loop well in advance.
Nergal has failed at both points. That's our issue.
Your argument that "even if is a game is abandoned for whatever reason people have no reason to cry if they haven't paid a single cent" is the only part I agree on.
But if you pay someone to do something, you want to get it done.
