So I have an announcement...
Those that follow my tumblr have probably noticed that I've been posting some seemingly random images with the tag "Cycle of Life and Sex". You guys are probably wondering what that is... It's a game, my game, that I've started some work on, mainly coding and sprite work as of now. Yes, you read that right, I've finally decided to start work on that game idea that I posted long ago when I first started modding.
I'm planning on having Cycle of Life and Sex be a more true RPG, which a battle system and traditional leveling up system that will be tied to the scenes you unlock in the story and furthering the story in it of itself. It'll be set in a universe based around comics, while currently most of the settings and characters I have planned are related to DC I do promise that if this project goes forward it will include characters from other comic companies as well. You will play as Xander, a plant-human hybrid created by Poison Ivy, like the characters introduced in her Cycle of Life and Death storyline (yes that is where I got the game's name). You would have been raised by Harley, deciding to be a hero as you age (as this will be set in the current canon where she and Ivy are anti-heroes rather than villains). You discover that you have inherited Ivy's pheromone based powers and at first you will have little to now control over then, leading to the first few scenes. Eventually you will be trained by Old Lady Harley, a version of Harley from the future that has been exposed to your powers for so long that she is no longer affected by them. You will decided to use them for good, using them to affect criminals and change their actions (so stat debuffs in battle and the like), but still will use them for pleasure (as when they are first used you have no control over them and thus begin to have a thirst for sex). Over time you will begin a bigger hero, defeat true villains, and solve mysteries (like why is Old Lady Harley here? Why are characters from alternate universes invading?).
What does this mean for my mod? Well, I've decided to no longer make new scenes, meaning whatever I have done now will likely be the last scenes made my me to ever be available in a future version. After version 4.5 (or 5, depending on what I call it) all future versions of the mod will just be bringing in scenes from the official releases, just for the people that prefer the older system rather than the new one introduced in 0.9. If other artists continued to make new scenes I'll be sure to include them in some fashion, but it won't be as detailed as before, maybe they will end up being stuff as Test Room only scenes. But yeah for now, I'm not making any more art.
But what about Gamedeus? I'm sorry, but for the immediate future that area will be incomplete. I do promise to make the threesome for Peter, Neala, and Maleficent however, and I will make the scenes for the genie harem in my next version, but that'll be all. Maybe someday I will go back and finish up the demon brothel and add all the ladies for the demon bar but that day won't be very soon.
So what scenes can we expect in Cycle? Some of the original animations for the mod, meaning nothing from the original game, have been edited for Cycle already, an example being Squirrel Girl's scene (see I said it would have stuff other than DC). But I plan on having the rest be completely original, be it stills or animation, I'm still figuring this stuff out.
Will we get a demo soon? Oh no, not at all, my apologies but I've barely started this project and I need a lot more time to put something out. I'll keep posting about progress as I go on though. That won't change from my modding days.
