I see some reference to those tall women that were cut enemies from Setaria.

Glad to see their return. I had started to think the long gap between updates must have been related to difficulties with Unity or the game's design, and it seems that that was the case.

It's been a long time since we saw usury, the game will change drastically from what I read
in summary
*the game will no longer be a hide and seek game, apparently uzura will continue doing the mechanics of defeating enemies (I still don't know if they will be with weapons or traps, etc.)
*he is still working on the game mechanics and with this change I think it would be released around 2026
Discarded map?

(I'll put it here, maybe this map will be useful in the future)
It's a relief to see that uzura is still alive

That map has been discarded, or rather, it was just a test utilizing Unity assets. They were attempting to procedurally generate maps for the game, but weren't able to.
They haven't hinted at a release date so it is best to not make guesses as to when it is coming out, because it might just be the case that coming back to their comfort zone will speed up development from now on. At any rate, they have promised to return to updating their Ci-en page monthly, so we have things to look forward to again.

I don't know why people were thinking he was gone, uzura being silent for periods of time is all part of his usual behaviour. He'll go completely radio silent for months then drop a big content + devlog update on us out of the blue. Expect more of this schedule, it is completely normal for him.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if evading enemies still takes priority even if you can defeat them, personally I'm expecting weapon limitations like ammo you have to find and such to discourage carving through everybody. But if we do go back to his usual gameflow of destroying enemies and map exploration I'm also fine with that, he's proven its effectiveness twice and I expect nothing less than success for this game if he goes down that route.

I understand why people were worried, this is not the first time but he has never been absent for this long and looking at the comments even his Japanese fans were worried.
Personally, I just felt there was an issue with development which in itself was cause for some concern; it's good to see things are back on track and the change in direction seems like it will benefit the game, after all.

Kinda disappointed it won't be survival horror anymore, this is the one dev I really wanted to see do it
He had hit a wall with the original design, it probably wouldn't have led to a good end product if he could even finish it. However, all he said was that you are now able to fight back against enemies, not that the game has been redesigned into a fast-paced action game like the previous two and if you look at the short clip he posted, it might still be survival horror.

Although it won't be the normal survival horror of you are defenseless I think from the little video it will still have elements of it since they've made it so you really couldn't see behind you that the tall enemy was coming up behind yourself. I do personally prefer games that don't leave you to be defenseless too so I like this change but also the fact that they realised that they prefer to make games that do involve combat in some form or another. As if they kept denying that throughout the development and didn't make this switch then we would most likely end up with longer development time and an worse product result most likely....if they didn't end up having to abandon it.

The good news though that comes with this too is that they are still keeping with an 2.5D style so can easily mean more things can occur and such horror and combat wise, also that we can probably trust them a lot more now to be upfront compared to other Devs since they not only said about this change but also why the silence occurred despite them not needing to go into any detail at all. Oh and due to this early change of direction development/rework time probably won't be impacted too much.

Bad news, still gotta wait for the game to be made and hope that their family troubles are all sorted now.
