If you'll be more specific on where exactly you get the error, I might be able to assist further but so far nothing popped up (except for the fact that you named Karder Nubba. I mean, seriously? Nubba?!
Yes, you and everyone who brought up poor Alam's scene was correct. I used variables which were never set and to make matters worse sometimes I checked falsely and sometimes positively so Karder turns out kinda bipolar... Anyway, fixed for 0.9.6. Thanks!
You're missing a garrison in Oryenguk.
Lilan's Act 2 condition is lilanRevisitFlag == False and territoryList[1].miniQuestFinishTurn + 50 <= turnCount and lilanCharm == False and territoryList[1].miniQuestDone
i.e.
A. Didn't play this before.
B. Finished Oryeonguk at least 50 turns earlier.
C. Didn't take her charm (i.e. fucked her) when played her quest originally.
D. Finished the Oryeonguk quest
If you wish to know which of these conditions fail:
A. Click Shift + O (the letter). A console will appear
B. Type each of these, followed by Enter:
lilanRevisitFlag == False (+ Enter)
territoryList[1].miniQuestFinishTurn + 50 <= turnCount (+ Enter)
lilanCharm == False (+ Enter)
territoryList[1].miniQuestDone (+ Enter)
Note if any of these returned Fail.
Note that (so far) the flag only applies for Dian, Antiope, Black Alana and Naruz-The-Wind.
turncount stuck at -1 is suspicious. If you could send me a saved file, I could look into it.

Nubba here lol. Found the solution myself. to avoid that error, you need to change "default quick_menu" which is set to ' True ' by default to ' False ' , that fixes it. you can find that in say.rpy file which is inside 0GUI folder

There is no problem here. Just built a Fort, a Gold Mine, a Garrison and a Temple in Oryeonguk.

Can't reproduce and no one complained about this. Send me a save file and I'll take a look, but I'm pessimistic about this being reproduced.
Since 0.9.7 includes an upgrade to the Queen Remy and Jada's sound tracks, not only the scripts were changed, hence you'll need to download the whole thing... or not. 0.9.7 contains the fixing of Alam's scene, typos, Barlin's scroll tips etc. Tiny things. So I'm not sure anyone who played 0.9.6 needs to download and play 0.9.7. Also, ironically, Alam's gallery scene plays without the bug in 0.9.6 (although it plays in seduction mode only).

You miss Jada's story (triggered after you control all fiefdoms), Marny's story (finish the Daoyuen quest) and Ilga the Ram and Black Alana's story (conquer Waikokipia, impregnate Black Alana).
There is currently animations in Limtinia quest, Waikokipia quest (+ Black Alana's sex scenes), Daoyuen quest (+ Naruz-The-Wind scenes) and all the new sex scenes in 0.9, those are with sex sounds as well.
Version 0.9.7 will be published in a few hours. It has very little new content, mainly typos and fixing of minor things. Your 0.9.6 saves will be fully compatible in the future, there's no need to upgrade to 0.9.7.

Yeah, you're missing 3 scenes.
As Doorknob22 said, above, to get the scene with Jada, his younger Sister, you need to have conquered all (8, I think) available fiefdoms.
To get the scene with Sigritzar Orkensau, you need to have completed the Quest & conquered Daoyuen.
To get the scene with Ilga the Ram, Black Alana & The Dark Harvest fleet:

Yes, Alam is the daughter of the older trader woman, at the desert oasis. The one whose vault you rob, near the start.
IIRC the older woman's known as The Queen of Sand & Gold.
Domia is the older woman's bodyguard\captain of the guard.
I have both (Alam & Domia) in my Palace, but it depends which choices you made.

Hmm, my save files from 0.5.3 won't open without lots of errors in 0.9.6, even when I opened it and resaved it in 0.6.9 and 0.7.5 first, hmm. I guess I need 0.8.9? Or is something more fundamentally wrong?

Hm, i had all provinces. Tried an older save and this time it worked as intended with the sister and also got Alana, after she was pregnant.

Did you get any errors when loading it in 0.6.9/0.7.5? You should be OK as long as 0.5.3 didn't have alpha saves. Unfortunately, 0.5.3
*.rpy/*.rpyc weren't kept, so I can't be certain.If it loaded cleanly in 0.6.9/0.7.5 try saving inside the tutorial from the world map in 0.7.5. Then attempt to load that save in 0.9.6/7. If you get an error quit then upload the
