I didn't know that, I thought the updated vars were only to imrove the models, I thought the different looks were only when they had a number after v or _ , caelryn.SoRa.15.var or caelryn.SoRa_2.1.var for example, thanks for letting me know
I went back to my collection, typed vecterror in search, and sorted by name.
vecterror.aledad.1.var
vecterror.aledad.2.var
vecterror.aledad.8.var are from different years and have different clothing and hair
vecterror.AmaSey.1.var
vecterror.AmaSey.4.var have different clothing
vecterror.AmSm.1.var
vecterror.AmSm.3.var
vecterror.AmSm.5.var different hair and clothing
Not only the different years, but vecterror is imaginative enough to sometimes release 1.var 2.var and 3.var at the same time and make them all different versions from different movies or casual.
Like here:
vecterror.ScJo_LiT23.6.var
vecterror.ScJo_LiT23.7.var 1 version is the casual one, 1 version is the one with the purple hair and different clothing from the karaoke scene
If you put only vecterror.ScJo_LiT23 in sharp, it only downloads the casual version. What do you say to the people who would maybe prefer to know of the existence of the stage karaoke version with the purple hair?
Shapes.Wendy.1.var
Shapes.Wendy.2.var Futa version
Shapes.Wendy.3.var
is it alright if I omit the version numbers of vars I know for definit don't have change in appearance?
What are you gonna do if maybe next time that same creator is going to release version 2 and version 4 and version 6 where the look has a different hair and clothing from another movie, but still, you might prefer the clothing from the previous version? Or the one with the purple hair? Or the futa?
You might know which one is which by heart because you like that var, but remember this is not a personal list.
Sorry I'll explain more, so just as you said to add a duplicate for an edit I thought it would be easier to add duplicates that instead of having the text "edit" added to the look's name you could add an extra variable instead that would be an extra column to your sheet, this would be the "edit" veriable which could only be true or false, everytime someone adds a new line using the "submit" button that would also mark the "edit" column as "false", then you could add another button next to submit that is called "edit", this button would add another line just like "submit" but would mark the "edit" column as "true" in that way you won't have to explain to each person to add the tex "edit" and it would be more intuative to newcomers, that would also mean that if you go on holiday or have a break, when you come back you don't have to search for names that include the text "edit" or typos/variations of it, just filter out all "false" edits and all you will have left are what people have put in as edits.
Ah, ok, I see what you mean. So instead of typing Edit, you press the Edit button instead and it adds the "Edit - " text for you. Well, not a text, but like you said, a value in a separate column, that way I could filter by that. So you add another button and you add another column. But usually, when people see an EDIT button, they think of selecting something, then pressing the Edit button, and be able to edit a box. It doesn't sound simple enough and intuitive for everyone. It would be easier for me, that's for sure. I don't know, I will think about this.
The way I was thinking to do it was to add 2 more columns Last Edit and Edited By and make an exact copy of the sheet called Edit Any Cell Here where every cell is editable. After edit, the edited cell automatically becomes "oldvalue -> newvalue", made yellow and row brought to the top, but only in the edit sheet, the main sheet stays untouched at this stage. Then I check the edit sheet, edit the cell again, and if the new value is left there, it pops to the top in the Main Sheet with a Last Edit and Edited By columns updated. If the old value is left there, then the row goes back to its place with the Timestamp value reverted. So the newly edited rows go in a stand by phase and only go in the main sheet if approved. Or something like that, that's the idea. I spoke a lot to chatGPT just figuring out the idea and is more complicated than I thought.
Or just make the sheet copy itself automatically every 24 hours and make it publicly editable. I could just revert the old sheet the next day or the next hour. But what happens if I go away for a week or a year? Then the sheet could become completely broken by edits and you couldn't even use the old version like you could with the stand by phase from my other idea.
I don't know, you want everyone to be able to edit, but not bad actors, and you want a checking and approval stage, but also simple and fast.
