I noticed some people in the thread here hiding or pretending to know how to access Patreon for free. This means you'll be able to edit, modify or play with any of the characters in the game - not just the two boring ones.

I don't gate keep and nobody told me this method, I set out by spamming all keyboard combos I could find until something happened. There are other keyboard combinations for this game, I had a few other menus pop up and I forgot them already.

Step 1. Launch the game.
Step 2. Click "Continue" and select "Patreon" - DO NOT CLICK FREE. If you did, quit and go to Step 1.
Step 3. Press CTRL + M and you will see a menu, press "MAIN MENU"
Step 4. Select your characters (all work now and are playable). Enjoy.
Step 5. If you experience crashes, re-load the game with the internet connection temporarily disabled.

Tip - this method must be done each and every time you re-launch the game. So, keep it in memory. There are a couple other keyboard shortcuts I've been looking into finding, and once I find them. I will share them.

If you wish to play with the debug menu, press Number 9 on the TOP ROW of your keyboard. Not F9, Not Numpad. The NUMBER 9.

Go nuts. Enjoy.

Edit - to the people who DM'd me to say I should take the post down because the developer might see it - even if he did patch it, it'll be able to be put back into the game. As a modpack even...

It creates "VanimateApp\Saved\SaveGames\save1.sav" when you launch with free, but doesn't when you do the bypass. Maybe that's why it crashes.

Disabling the network connection and then doing it sometimes helps. The first time I did it, I had two or three crashes and then it worked normally. Even with internet connected.

So sad to see potential games having idiots on the dev teams ALL THE DAMN TIME.
If i had such skills i would love to make my community happy and make my game a cool place even if its "just a porn game" but these idiots of humans only want some money....

Someone studied for up to 5 years, then went on to spend countless hours learning, practising and honing their skills to build a game which has, let's be honest - still is a lot more generous with their free option than most other titles. And you're mad that they give people the option to pay for the game if they want to continue playing?

If you think someone who, despite all issues I see with their methods - is actually a rather skilled developer, does not deserve the money they're letting people optionally pay for then I must only ask...

I followed your steps 1-1 and it still does not work. Even with internet disabled, it keeps consistently crashing. Tried 20 times now. It runs 30 seconds at best before just shutting down the game.

Block VanimateApp.exe and VanimateApp-Win64-Shipping.exe in firewall.
Use subscribestar, not patreon on start and all work.

You press Subscribestar and after press M(ctrl + M). I have tested this method many times, everything works without crashes and everything is accessible in game.

I got it to work but it's super finicky, I ended up doing the firewall on both .exe and turning my wifi off right after the patreon/subcribestar click and that seemed to work

If you tried it once and it failed, you have to exit the game and start it up again.

It seems to vary functionally from Patreon to Subscribestar. Both work for me, however. I can make a video of it in action?

I checked as well. It doesn’t work. The maximum I managed was to launch the game world itself. Meaning, when the game starts, we have around 30 seconds before it crashes. In that time, if you quickly select the needed characters and the desired map, the loading begins. Even if the game wants to crash, it can’t throw you out because other functions are being executed. But as soon as you start a sex scene with the characters—why exactly at that moment? I suspect the game has two main checks. The first one is in the menu: it verifies whether the subscription is valid. The second one happens when you start the sex scene: the game once again checks if you have a subscription.
Because at all other times, you can freely walk around the location and it won’t kick you out of the game—unless the game itself glitches and crashes.

There isn't a second check, the actual crash occurs when the game decides to throw a panic because using my shared method to bypass Patreon the game load order is somewhat different. I suspect it's because we're using the CTRL + M method, essentially skipping out on loading somewhere something important.

For myself, the crash only happened once or twice - when I disabled my internet for a moment to load it up, it worked. And since then, every launch is working without issue - without blocking the app. So I am not convinced it's doing any checks after the initial one at startup.

Yep, this essentially is what worked for me. But I didn't block in firewall, was enough to disable net.

I changes the aspect ratio and fiddled with the settings a bit and it worked. also i went to the menu before pressing the patreon link and it worked

Dosen't work for me don't know why, I've deleted in the local files, have blocked both exe's and did the CTRL+M or just M nothing worked

I tried the steps you gave point by point, I blocked the .exe in my firewall, I even try to change the location of my PC but nothing works, it doesn't work on version 9.1.0 whereas on version 9.0.2 I have no problem the shortcut works

Just worked for me !

- Deleting the folder + re doing everything from zero worked, just follow exactly the steps and do create the firewall rules BEFORE doing the first "free mode selection on first launch" maybe it is what made this work for me on the 9.1.0 version
