Anyone else getting this issue for 0.02? It happens whenever i try to o fight the traveler

Needs a new save, sorry i had to include a warning, ill actually share a save soon which will take you to travelers fight directly, since you can use your phone to change toggles and change names it can save time until skip prologue option is added.

I'm not going to be mean, especially since I know it's hand drawn so I imagine this guy is working his ass off. But the art is just... not great, and kinda pushes me away. I know it won't happen, but I honestly wish it switched to Ai art or maybe 3D (even though 3D can be kinda rough too).

I know that certain aspects like hands, body proportions/anatomy, and angles/perspective are tough for a beginner artist, but Ms. Sausagefingers here is the stuff of nightmares

On the art, I think the artist does need a better understanding of human anatomy and body proportions. But the artstyle is something I actually really like. I guess the analogy I'd use is you've found your musical style, now get better with your instrument.

And I heavily disagree on using AI art or 3D art. As you point out, 3D art can look incredibly rough at times. And with the amount of AI slop on this website, the minute I see your typical anime waifu made with generative AI, I usually just disregard the project entirely.

Maybe I am just crazy, but I think the art isn't that bad at all. I have played 100s of H games and very few of them have art that is even close to perfect. I don't think the game has perfect art and some drawing have some oddities due to the perspective and sometimes shading, but I find it to be unique and enjoyable. One game mentioned in this thread, Katalist, used to also have lots of discussions of the art being bad; however, not only has the art gotten better over the years, many people have enjoyed the art from the beginning for its unique style. For the suggestion of AI, I would say it would be better to continue making their own art if they have the talent to make this. It is fine to use AI as a tool for mock-ups, but it is often less enjoyable as the finished product and is something I wouldn't recommend to a developer (unless you are broke, have no art skills, and want to make a game with some kind of art).
Moving away from the art, I am looking forward to the game's future. Haven't played the newest version yet, but I did really enjoy the first version despite not making a review like I normally would. The story was intriguing in its use of mythology (unless I am mistaken), the art was enjoyable, the characters made me want to know more about them, the music was honestly amazing, the scenes were pretty good, and there are even toggles for content for those not into some things. The only problems I had that I remember was that it would be nice to have a fast travel or speed up option to traverse the map at times. The map itself is well made, but it currently is just a lot of empty space with uninteractable NPCs.
I am pretty curious about the note on the fight's extreme fetish content. I have seen multiple ways of people developing toggle content for games, but hearing that the content messes with the other skills makes me curious as to how it was implemented, what exactly was happening when it caused an issue, and what the problem is.

Ai art hate is kinda funny to me. So your freelance commissions took a hit, well it was fun while it lasted, time to change with the times. I'm not referring to you specifically but that seems to be the source of some of the hate. Anyway, it's simply a tool for those who can't draw but have interest in creating something, wich kinda fits this game to a T in my opinion. Look at Land of Yonira, good game, a bit dialogue heavy, but awesome art, all made with Ai image generators.

The art is fantastic. People that only jack off to Daz renders now have some sort of monopoly on criticism. Well I am breaking up that monopoly.

Hand drawn art is better. It's already very good, but here's the thing with artists, they get better over time. Find the best artist you know, their initial works look something like this. But it's much easier to criticize someone than to praise or to do anything yourself.

Well, I'm going to praise. Keep it up Mertian I don't know where this will go, but it's obviously got serious passion behind it. Almost every game on this site is lazy renders, lazy stock assets and music. This stands out as a result. Kind of like Hollow Knight did like 8 years ago.

Although the art definitely needs improvement, I'd take it over AI any day. And it's not just for the whole moral debate surrounding the AI. It's because all of the AI art images start to look the fucking same very fast and I get tired of seeing them. If I saw it here as well, I'd give this game exactly 1 glance and never looked back.

Well just done play of update so lets try to review by parts(so other people think of it as spoiler). It's mostly personal so wait for more ppl for better outlook probably. Big wall of text ahead.

Battle mechanic:
well currently it it's not great to be truthful, but that's given as changelog said this is more of mechanic test. Coin mechanic is interesting - seems to be replacing normal attacks or more of replacing typical rpgmaker crit chance(not sure how will luck stat work with this), but even with the heads most of time the battle takes like +20 turns. I'm guessing it will rise with lvl, otherwise maybe try making it act like multiplayer with smaller value and spawn another coin up to x(choose number, so 3%+3% max hp additively or something else). Perhaps some type of leveling talent? Depends on how much work it will be, given solo dev-ing and not complete combat currently, if too much or takes time from making content better skip(actual need will show itself once we get the full combat experience, do we need to lose few times to get strong then win, some bonuses for losing too much/winning easy etc).

Battle music:
nice as always - had to tone it down a little though due to loudness. Probably weird to say, but it might be too artistic? Can't really specify.

Battle visual effects:
Good. Mostly the subtitles(appearing text) as it's pretty rare to see such things. Seen them mostly in japs games. Might to speed up it a little though and if possible it might be good mechanic of overworld(non battle) for some specific events(magical talking crow/possession/madness....).

Seduction mechanic(mechanic only):
You might try to make the choices random, ie give up is now always up so maybe try shuffling it if possible (50% time 1st option others 2nd option instead of standard NO/YES). Also when you click seduce first on body part x, the npc might go for 2nd seduction attempt on other body part - kinda time wasting. Can't really suggest more as most of ideas are katalist things(multiple seduction/graples with possibility of failing) and people are already saying "katalist clone tm"

Art:
Better than AI due to not giving that fake ass vibe, but you kind of need to get better as some of it shows during scenes(Most of art is good, but when people look for details its does show in some places, generally good though(ppl here fapped to way worse:rolleyes:)). But i'm sure it will come with time and practice.
For most basic things like sausage fingers (I'm not artist, some yt video guide or even trying to trace someone else work(parts only, no plagiarism! well maybe if hot and given credit) would probably give way more value) - just try to create joints - finger are fattest at those parts so you will just have to remember to slim others down, add some small darker lines as skin crease/folds(applies to things like neck(+shading) or wrists) and voila.
For main traveler pic during 1st phase(don't remember 2nd now), you might try to slim lower underwear from above(more of V letter than U?) - kinda unsure if they are panties, spats or something else.

music during scenes:
Probably personal thing, but couldn't really get into the scenes too much cuz of it - kinda used to typical rpg [version] maker music during them or even just sound effects without music. You might need some more people to say something bout it.

Scenes:
Weirdly the best one for me was probably footjob, mostly because of after effect dirt appearing again(loki got tricked lol), but boob smother with bigger breast is also pretty good(kinda weird end to that one though). All got that telekinetic-portal dick handjob, but lost the opportunity of handless orgasm - by that I mean of only either friction/smell|taste/act itself(idea?). Cloning op.
Following is kind of hard to say without looking at game to compare but perhaps some more narrator text than pc-npc talk.

Phone:
nice. I used the save to time skip so i'm unsure if the previously made dialogue choices with characters had any effect or we aren't there yet. haven't tested fast travel

Visual Filter is pain, but someone might like it. I would say it might be better for plot scene than normal gameplay but to each their own.

Bug:
struggling during the special attack in (or was it evading?) the 2 phase makes traveler dissaper(standing cg) her attacks/seduction shows.

About fetish scenes - you might check out if you had made correct if statement(so if there fetish changing scene it will either turn on entire scene with fetish(so two version of scenes, but if multiple its pretty bad idea - 2 fetishes in one scene is 4 events/block of text) or normal scene > fetish switch check and few lines with it(text, cg change, sound) > back to normal scene > repeat until scene ends for every fetish).
