idk if any of you punks even try to play the html version legitimately instead of using the damn cheats to see how fucking horrid it is compared to the qsp, let me fucking recount my first experience of the game in the html version after i got send from the dragon isle to graveyard i step into the city for the 1st time and get instantly send to jail because there no window telling me i were fking naked, then i proceed to the jail yard i try to gamble to make some money to pay the fines only to lose it all, now here come the real fun part snek in his infinite genius keep focus on working on the quests instead of basic stuff like the jobs in jails, so the only way i get any money to pay off the fines is through battle with the prisoners and at level 1 that just mean i get my ass kick and rape at nearly every encounter and each time i heal at the jail clinic they increase the fines so it become an infinite loops of me get rape and being heal at the clinic oh and i had the womb crest cursed too so i were popping out babies like crazy.
So dont fuking try to gaslight me that the html version is better than the qsp version, it's fuckign straight up dudu water compared to the qsp

Bug: When working The Frog, I'm getting the option to "fix a customer's problem" despite not knowing about the special milk and them not showing any signs of lust. The game currently only checks if you're lactating for that scene, so I think adding the Waitress quest check to it should fix it. Also there were a few missing p tags, so the player sees a few </p>

Edit: I think the passages for "Call for help" and "Try to help her" are reversed. It doesn't make sense for the "Try to help her" option to lead to "Turning to call for help"

Edit2: I don't think the "AvendonGarrison" or the "AvendonCrime" variables were set because going to the guard barracks shows the town's safety as "$AvendonGarrison-$AvedonCrime%"

Edit 3: In prison, the code is set to $bankmoney as the amount you have to pay instead of $totalfine. Scratch that, you never really have to pay any fine. Even with $bankmoney set as your fine, the game takes nothing from your account or the money you have on hand. You essentially don't have to pay to get out of jail. Also, the bank screen is a little funny. Even if I haven't deposited anything into my account anytime recently, how much I deposited still shows on screen. Example attached. I haven't deposited anything in my bank in days.

Also, to address this, I started with the twine version, then switched to QSP, then switched back to twine. The twine version is so insanely much easier that it isn't a contest to me. I've never once used cheats on either version. I knew I was naked because I read what was on the screen and it tells you people are looking at you for you nudity. It tells you that both on the Dragon Isle (where the lizardfolk will actually try to pay to fuck you for being naked) and in the slums where you can't get arrested for being naked. It literally says "Your nudity is attracting the attention of others" on the screen. You have to go from the slums to the port (where you're unlikely to be arrested for being nude) to the town center before it's a problem. Next is the gambling, which is actually where I made the mass majority of my money from. Playing the card game is basically an infinite money glitch. You bet low while the outcome is uncertain and then bet it all then it's either a 1 or a 13 because you literally can't lose. I'm sorry your first experience was so poor, but it really seems like it was brought on from not looking at what was on your screen

In the QSP version, you need to go to the Monastery in the mountain. I don't remember if you need to talk to the Witch in the Woods about it first or if you can go straight there. You can buy the demon cum needed in Mont Creek or from the Magician in Solomn's circus.

In the Twine version, I think the kitsune in the mountain are the ones you have to talk to. I've played that less, so I'm less sure on that. I'm also not sure where a chaste PC would get demon cum since I got mine straight from the source in Hell

Previous post was getting a little long, so here's a new one
Bug: If you get pregnant in Hell at the beginning of the game and give birth while you're drowning, it sequence breaks and you're put back at the top of the summit. You're then able to go down like normal, but still a weird break

Bug?: I'm not sure if it's the "Last of your line" elf thing or taking the hyperfertility boon at character creation, but the instant my character gets semen inside of her, she gives birth. And if it's not instant, then it's a few passages later. She can then continue giving birth for as long as she has semen inside of her. Edit: This has started happening on another character, so I'm not sure what's going on

Bug: Giving yourself to demons in hell either pulls up what I think is the wrong image or no image at all since in code it's labeled "Captive.jpg" 1-10 and Captive only goes up to 7. I think it's supposed to be "demon.jpg" 1-10

Bug: If you are female and have a female client at the brothel, you're shown a whole lot of goblin images no matter your race and the last of it are broken images. In code, one of the "<" at the beginning of the image selection section is missing and it's "Goblin' instead of "Goblin". After that's fixed, the image still doesn't display if neither of you are goblin, lizardfolk, or Sultanate because the pathing is slightly wrong

Bug: Donating to the orphanage doesn't visibly remove food from your inventory. I had 7 fish when I started, I had 7 fish when I finished even though I donated 4 of them. Donating to the Lizardfolk does work, so you might be able to copy the code from there with the changes the orphanage needs

Bug: Using lactaid gives you this error message and does not increase your lactation. The lactaid does disappear from your inventory though. With a little digging, it's because the consumableEffect has "State.variable.lact" instead of "State.varibles.lact". The rest of the variables in that section follow the same. Really? All that mess over a missing "s"? As far as I can tell, it increased the bust size, but did not start lactation. It did. I either got unlucky or needed the 1 or 2 others to get a decent flow


Bug: The ability to talk to your coworkers at The Frog is missing. I can see the button there, but it doesn't show up for some reason. I band-aid fixed it by initializing loversFrog somewhere away from The Frog's shit. There's probably a better way though.

Gaslighting? I don't think it means what you think it means.
But seriously, I wasn't saying the twine version is better, or worse. I just gave the reason from development perspective why the dev switched and why going back is not an option. The dev keeps fixing bugs and introduces new location, characters and mechanics which break stuff, so bugs are expected at this stage. It will get better though. Solid Snekk is pretty open about the process. And I have played both versions, but put off playing the twine version until it is more stable.
So no reason to get mad, dude.

Of course i dont know how QSP works but this kind of thing typically is caused by poor coding practices like using global variables, not compartmentalizing or abstracting things. Sphagetti code.

For now it seems like the Twine version is more bugged and more obviously so. Godspeed snek we'll get em squashed.

Yeah, QSP is broken af, everytime I click something I get a "level up" notification, made 158 levels in 5 minutes, fight sequences are broken, I don't receive money from working in the forge, it's a mess

Okay, to reiterate for the n2*100th time here is the sweet and simple rocket man version for the fuckwits that can't keep up to the best of my knowledge (Going with my personal experience fucking around with both engines over the years):

QSP = niche engine not actively being developed (even with community versions), broken ass mess the more things get added into a game and the more complex a game built on the engine gets, takes time to learn a lot of the ins and outs considering the amount of bugs it has, less friendly to fix game files/keep track of things when being worked on by 1 person and the odd person here and there that can help fix the code for the currently worked on game.

Twine = has longer end of life support/still being worked on, more intuitive way to keep track of variables, easier to pick up for even the average laymen (with the exception of some devs/users that intentionally make their strings harder to edit), easier to fix something in less time, easier to work with for only 1 dev and the odd person here and there that wants to help fix bugs.

Is there anything I missed that wasn't readily apperent?

Alex the Gladiator in particular is badly affected since she's now in a weird state of having given birth to my child, but still pregnant so she can't participate in the Arena anymore. Really, it's not about global variables or developer skill. The QSP editor literally removes some tags randomly in the project when saving, breaking unrelated files. I'm not sure if it could be reduced with version control and check the diffs before committing the changes, but it's pretty bad and annoying, very noticeable in bigger projects.

I would agree to that.
Both have the problem that you can only find most bugs when testing, so if you have a big game with many branching code paths, it becomes pretty hard to test alone.

Here's a fixed & modded twine version of 0.8.3.
Includes html and a changelog of what I thought were fixes as well as what was modded in. (Only fixed things I encountered)
Make a backup of your save just in case before starting.
Move html file to same location as base game html and enjoy.

Notable Modded Content: Children you birth/hatch can now be raised to be allies. (Hatchable: Lizardfolk Egg, Kobold Egg).

Bug: The Curse of Futa doesn't currently work as intended. You'll gain a 1 incher, but that's it despite the curse supposed to grow you to 7 inches. Adding <<set $penis +=1>> to the curse fixed that for me

Hmm, it should only update your pregnancy/birth scene when an hour has passed or if chosen to give birth with less than 24hrs left to your pregnancy timer. You can check the save file (I often use the saveeditonline site to check variables already made) for pregnancyduration and gestationtime, if its 0 or null then that's the cause and if not then it's possible the pregnancyProgress is increased too high during an set statement.

I'll create a character right now but I'm assuming your using the base html? If not, then it could also be an edit that causing an issue?

I'm not using the base, but I also haven't added any new variables. The only things I change are bugfixes. Edit: Checked it in saveeditonline and yup, something screwy is happening. gestationtime is -10. I have no idea how that happened since I haven't touched that
Edit2: OK, yeah, something's screwy. On a brand new save, gestationtime is 0. I'm guessing the broodmother perk you get from the shaman is what's making it -10, but I have no idea what's making it 0 from the get go

Its the same issue with Alex and Avee, it's $pregnancymod being set to null when using the [ Reset ] button when setting Pregnancy Duration. The comparison gte and lte will result to true when comparing null to 0 as null is 0 when coverted to interger (to compare).
For the code for [ Reset ] button, you can use (ignore bracket) [ unset $pregnancymod ] instead of [ set $pregnancymod to null ].

[unset variable] will set it to undefine, therefore not passing the variable gte 0 comparison. Also, goblins iirc start with a gestationtime -= 10 so with gestationtime intially 0 became -10.

Oh no, the gestationtime -10 was in my Holstaur run, so something screwy was going on there. I'll pop your suggestions in and report back on that. I was just about to turn [$pregnancymod gte 0] into just gt 0 since it'd still check the null if it was gte
