It's 8:34pm on a slow Monday evening. My wife is in the other room doing laundry. A hamster rolls by in her hamster wheel in her never-ending quest for freedom. It's a shame thing in Japan, the shame of being a criminal is huge. So that alone stops a lot of crime.
The level of male sexual repression in that country is quite ridiculous though. It's why you see so many games and manga/anime where women are literally nothing more than rape toys. Such as this game... it's disturbing to me. I lived there for a few years, and it's quite crazy. There is a fair bit of racism too, but it's mainly the male sexual repression that drives that culture... Americans do quite well there because we're way more confident, and have a lot less shame, haha.

Racial and cultural demographics, to be honest. It's a common trend in territories dominated (95%+) by Caucasians and eastern cultures. I live in a middle Tennessee town, 93% European American. We have 4 police cars for the whole town (37,000 people). The majority of our crime is unruly white teenagers damaging property for fun.
Because a lot of people admit to crimes they didn't commit lol
