But like I said it seems like NTS lover hate for NTR is a deep one haha...i didn't know before.
I might be the outlier in that I don't like NTR because I think it's boring. If you've played the right 2 NTR games, you've kind of played them all. There's very little variation. The MC is clueless, weak, and spineless, the antagonist is a manipulative psychopath, and the wife is naive simpleton who loses her marbles because of drugs/big dick magic. The story always ends with the MC being abandoned, or remaining clueless as the wife continues to cheat on him, usually by getting pregnant with the other guy's child. The characters seem to exist in a vacuum with no real worldbuilding, the side characters(if there are any at all) act like disconnected sociopaths, and the narrative almost never seems to have consequences or cause>effect attached to it beyond the one grand narrative trope.
There's a couple of Japanese games/stories that are delineated from these worn out trends which I rather enjoy, like the side characters acting like real human beings leading to consequences for the wife, or the MC learning the truth and deciding to start fighting back, or having a psychotic break and going scorched earth. But these elements are utterly missing from western NTR. This is where the self-described "NTR Fans" come in and keep the genre stuck in the narrative stone age. Try and suggest any kind of variation to the narrative structure, like MC's revenge, or at the very least the world coming back to bite them in the ass; and you get brigaded by braindead "NTR Fans" who seem to like playing the same thing reskinned 1000 times, and think that expanding the genre beyond it's now tired tropes is "attacking the kink", or whatever. Then these people go into NTS games/threads/whatever and try to get it to become an NTR game, which annoys me to no end.
If hard NTR had a better fanbase and better story writers, I'd enjoy it. However with the exception of individual people like yourself(assuming you are one), as a collective group/genre; NTR is the cesspit of adult games, and it's not because of the 'kink' or whatever. That's how basically everyone who isn't in it sees it, including the vast majority of NTS fans, who also have to put up with being lumped in with the hard NTR at every turn as well, which gets tired really fast. This shit website(and pretty much everywhere else) STILL hasn't split the NTR tag into NTR-NTS-NTI, yet, which adds fuel to the fire of this problem.
