Kind of disappointed this game will never have a netorare route. I'm mainly into NTR for the corruption aspect, and
netorase → netorare is probably my favourite subgenre of NTR. Still, everything else about the game looks so good, I'll follow it anyway.

On a sidenote, do you guys think netorase → netorare should have its own name, or should we just refer to games like this one as "pure netorase"? I've noticed whenever a piece of media gets labelled as NTS, it attracts people from both sides of the divide hoping it will be one or the other, and nearly always causes arguments.

The real problem here IMHO - and this may be controversial; is that NTRS/sharing and NTR are polar opposites, not bedfellows. They're only grouped together out of political convenience as the ree-ree types get offended equally by both.

Where it gets a little grey is what I've seen typically in japanese-style games where the mc is pretty doormaty from the start, and things just 'happen' to him; and these games are often grouped into ntr or ntrs based on his reaction alone, not the overall situation or gf's actions. It's yet another case where I think the community does a big disservice by continuing to use these non-english classifications, these ideas are super easy to communicate in english.

Do you want a game where the girl cheats on the guy and leaves him? Or do you want a game where the girl and the guy get into group sex/swinger/voyeurism/cuckold scenarios? Moreover - fans of the respective genres could simply ask those questions to gauge interest-"Does the LI cheat on mc with a better guy, and potentially leave him? Or does the couple do some kind of swinger/hotwife stuff?" See? Simple.


All of this is a little offtopic, as saxnado's reply above made it crystal clear which category this will fall into, and I'm certainly happy with that news. Can't wait to see future updates.

Thank you for all the kind words and feedback so far, it makes me very happy to see so many people enjoying it!

I wanted to write up some comments about the game that I've seen people ask:

- There will be NO hard NTR, no betrayal and no wife stealing! It's all for the others pleasure and because they both enjoy it!
- Every time a new version comes out on Patreon, I will release the previous version here for everyone to play!
- There will be more options in the upcoming versions (i.e. hiding MC's face if you so wish!)

You do a great job with being clear on what you what out of this game, and so far (as of 0.3) your writing has done well reflecting those goals. Still, it's appreciated that you go out of your way to state your intentions with the game!

That's true, but I think this is big enough an issue that a distinction would help. I always see people who like pure NTS complaining about being bait and switched, so I can't be the only one who agrees. I guess consistently using both the Netorare and Netorase tags together to denote the difference would work, yeah.
Not that it would really help on this site.

I do agree it's a problem within these circles sometimes, but I don't think it's a big deal. People just get a little too up-in-arms about it since they're emotion driven fetishes.

I'm with Pr0GamerJohnny in saying that english terms can help clear things up a bit of the ambiguity here, but I also understand why people might stick with what they know. Maybe the terms will alter further in time? I already see people saying things like "pure NTS" and "maso-NTS", for example, so who knows.

That's probably why we differ. I don't self-insert into NTR as any of the characters. For me, the MC just acts as a measuring stick to show how corrupt the heroine has become. I think that's why it's so common for the MCs in NTR to be unlikeable.

Oh trust me, I don't really self insert either, I just like to be able to relate to the MC to a reasonable degree since I'm the one who has to pilot him. It's the reason I don't play games with manlet or really beta MC's, or games with doormat MC's who let their partner walk all over them. Games with unavoidable kinks that I myself can't stand, and would never ever subject myself to.

I don't even name MC's after myself lol. I use pretty much a different name for every MC of every game I play. The games that let you change the name in the first place that is. So yeah, no self inserting from me.

The probably is, It's really common for things tagged netorase to just end up as netorare anyway. And as a pure NTS fan I'm sure you agree (You must be sick of it lol).

As long as this game stay to Netorase and not Netorare I am okay with it, but I think this game will be more spicer if in the future update the game have options wife can choose to light humiliate Mc(่just acting) or Wife have Black partner(two or three time). this is just my opinion, also maybe wife can have femdom play with Mc by acting more dominant by teasing him with footjob or something. Btw I love the game and looking for future update.

Through 0.02 there's a few scenes in the game and lots of teasing. Probably about 30 to 40 minutes of content or so? The beginning of the game is basically Amelia and the MC getting into the idea of netorase when MC admits its his fetish to her.

The iq discrepancy on this site is quite shocking sometimes! Some moron was complaining about the buildup "not being hot" in the reviews, yet solely plays 3dcg renpys. NTR is a delicate genre, you need to build up to, don't be disappointed by the gameplay because it's more story driven than your 2-bit porn parodies.

I could be the next one to be hated because I would also give less-than-perfect rating, at least for the time being. And I am not talking about the story. Generally speaking, I can live with the art (though I am not a big fan of it). But what really annoys me is the constant screen shaking. It's really not necessary. If the dev reads the comments - and I believe he does, which I find very postive: please limit them (I mean the shakes) e.g. to the most surprising statements / events only. If they follow every second sentence, it does not make any sense.

This is a small detail but it decreases (my) satisfaction from the game significantly. And it seems to me I am not the only one with this feeling.

When I added the screen shakes in, I didn't realize that it would be taken as excessive or annoying, certainly wasn't my intention!

I'll look to balance it out in future versions.

Yes, I understand your motivation for doing it. The setup for introducing the girl into the NTS lifestyle is probably the hardest decision when writing a game like this. It's just that I think that choice was a bit too extreme and unnatural. For example, there is no mention of actually checking with a hospital if he was badly injured without realising it. But that's just my opinion.

Vulgar Reverie is incredibly polished in virtually every aspect of VN design - the writing, art, protagonist, female lead, pacing etc. However, what makes this gaming experience exemplary, and it's something I haven't seen praised enough, is the creative direction.

Saxonado Studios might be the first developer I've seen on this site that puts an exacting level of attention into every creative decision. This includes everything from the overt (see the text & music transition in the opening from the MC's initial thoughts to the domestic scene with his wife) to the covert (notice how the speech sound effects differ between the MC and Amelia). While this might seem like a minor point, feel free to compare this to virtually any other game on this site. Due to this emphasis on direction, the individual areas which were already great (writing, art etc) become even greater because they all synergise with each other.

Now, it's still early days and you never know how these things will turn out. But given how good this start is, I can't help but be hopeful for the future of this project. Good luck SS.
