VN - Ren'Py - Vulgar Reverie [v0.16 P1] [Saxonado Studios]

I'm not sure why I skipped this game after looking at it a few times, but I'm glad I gave it a chance.

It's definitely one of the best, if not the best, in terms of dialogue and overall sharing story. I was especially pleasantly surprised when the tanned guy turned out to be a good guy, not the stereotypical and overly simplistic character you might expect.

The best parts for me are the showing off and sharing moments when the main character is in control, and I think most, if not all, of the game focuses on that.

I'm looking forward to future updates.

First review on this forum, never really feel the urge to review a game but this is different. If you are into the netorase genre like the good old Marina series from Atelier Sakura, this is THE game. 5/5 for art and dialogues. I hope there are more games like this for the netorase genre and keep up the good work devs.

Still absolutely a masterpiece for a netorase game, I think a lot of people mistaken a NTS game over NTR games which might lead them to giving it a lower review, but if you are into NTS specifically, play this.

PROS:
- No overarching story/plot line. Yes I rate this positively and highly, why? because for a game of netorase, there is no need of them, no need to save the world, no villains to defeat, no one will really be hurt. NTS falls under the premise of the FMC not being corrupted, it's a couple loving each other and gaining pleasure from the play in their forseeable future marital life. This means that the devs are free to explore countless different netorase scenarios, kinks, different places, different people, under different circumstances, etc... There is no rush to "end" the game, if the devs can keep up with the quality of these buildup, scenes, and art, this can absolutely be going almost indefinitely, and I will support them indefinitely too.

- All current available scenes are hot, the writing which builds up these scenarios is top notch

CONS:
- Non yet really, maybe too little gameplay? but I don't mind it, play it as a kinetic novel and enjoy the awesome ride.

Feedback for the devs:
- Keep up the great quality! you are doing gods work.
- Please leverage the NTS premise and make a long going game exploring countless more kinks, and scenarios like I described in the PROS section, hopefully this game can be VERY long lasting game as long as the writing and art can keep up. There is no need to "progress" some plot line as this is a couple's marital life funsies, there is no "plot line" either in real life right?

So far, it is a very good work, with excellent writing and exquisite painting style. Of course, it would be even better if animation can be added in the future. It is very suitable for players who like hidden ntr.

An amazing game, and its insane that its taken this long for someone to truly understand what netorase is, the mc and his wife very clearly love each other and while mc struggles with revealing his kink and so on, his wife is very supportive and they very clearly want the best for each other, the pacing is great, there's plenty of sexy and super erotic moments with an option for a "what if" in some scenes so you (and mc) can have your imaginations go wild before snapping back to reality, and there is a nice romantic slightly slice of life element to it where you can tell its an actual loving couple that cares (almost feels like it puts some vanilla romance games to shame), art is beautiful and extremely sexy, though I wish it was animated, but that is a minor gripe and just a personal greedy want vs what is an awesome game, the only sad part so far is that there is an end, but I cannot wait to see more of this!

Edit: 28/10 as of v0.16 - the problem is that this game has never really moved on from this and has become extremely formulaic, every single encounter is like a cycle and there is a whole rigmarole where in the latest versions the wife feels guilty even though way worse things have happened, the MC has no agency in who gets picked and barely feels like sharing, just constant "oh I am going to have sex with xyz" "omg honey, reclaim me" from the wife like a continual cycle with sex scenes that are "put it in" "it feels good" bland, where somehow the vanilla stuff is better - there was a good start, but the dev has lost his way, and the weird patreon posts with "oh there will be no NTR, don't worry its just acting" is so strange when everyone knows what the game is about, shame it went this way when this genre is saturated with average to bad efforts, but this is squarely landing in the "nice art, but bleh story and action" pile.

Fantastic character work, dialogue, ART (the wife is actually incredible looking), plausibility, intrigue, UI design; everything is just so freaking tasteful. It's rare that you get a full package perfect netorase game like this, and if you're into the kink this is a must-experience game.

How could i not 5 stars the best netorase game ever seen. Best writing, best way to describe and tease such uncommon ntrs situations. The wife is such a hot and it's due the very good graphic cg. 5 stars.

The writing and art is really damn good. The facial expressions displayed by the wife are incredible, and the characterisation/dialogue is something that is a breath of fresh air in this fetish. The pacing is at a level where the progression of the NTS is believable, but it's not slow enough for it to be grating.

Perfect tempo, real and thoughtful characters, very nice art, music and dialogues. Overall the only downfall that there is not enough. Not sure if such a high quality game will ever be enough. Hope the dev will keep up at the same pace and give us much more juicy updates!

It's great, it has a superb build-up. the MC and the FC are not just plain cardboard characters and they love each other which makes the netorase aspect more flavorful, However, the game is not finished so you can end up with a mild case of blue balls.

A netorase game that actually understands that MC can have a spine and still be into sharing. A game that understands that just because someone is submissive to one person, doesn't mean they're submissive to everybody.

While still in its early stages, so far this is the only game I've ever played that has actually gotten a healthy sharing dynamic right.

Art is beautiful with a fun story and setting. One critique would be the body proportions in the art, but I can live with it.

This is the best ntr game! It is very interesting to watch the plot and I want to know what will happen next. The characters are very beautiful, the scenes are drawn very well, it’s nice to see the efforts of the author.

I've followed this project since it's first release and subscribed to the Patreon immediately. The story is a slow burn but you're given the opportunity to enjoy scenes through the MC's imagination without any penalty.
The MC is a blend of dominant and submissive at different times in the story, which makes for a more broadly appealing story than if he were solely one or the other. I personally prefer a more dominant MC, but this balance is still enjoyable for me.
Amelia is also a balance of dom/sub depending on MC, which again makes for a more versatile story while still holding on to the netorase boundaries at its core.
The artwork is outstanding, the artist clearly takes their time to make each image, sprite, etc look as good as possible. Amelia's appearance is not exactly my cup of tea (I'm not a fan of huge boobs) , but the quality of the artwork still makes for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Ok this update 0.04 was actually such a hit ; it has an element of shock in it ; as I did not expect the beautiful life to let herself get fondled like that and felt by a complete stranger ; it was really such a shock inducing but really hot scene to see at the same time <3 ; more of that please ; I like seeing her be more daring. Love your the direction you are taking

Story/Character:
The story goes you as the husband have deep desires for your wife to be with other men with trouble looming when your wife is an ex-mafia family member. From the introduction of the characters and the confession of the NTR. It’s done so brilliantly fucking well. I feel like this seems like one of the most genuine introductions of NTR I’ve seen in a game. The writing and the dialogue are well written. You can see from the banter and humour at the beginning that they are very much connected and in so love with each other. Once that love and rapport was established, it made that NTR confession that made emotional and impactful.

The main character is a great guy, he’s not a beta cuck or a super alpha gigachad. He’s just your loving husband who happens to have a fetish for NTR. He understands the ramifications of NTR because he loves and cares for his wife so much, but is brave enough to go through it because it is his deepest desire. Reciprocating on the other hand is the wife, she’s such a bubbly personality that it makes it hard to imagine her with anyone else other than you. She has perfected the art of teasing the husband and the slow build-up is very anticipating. What this game does so well is invoking a sense of emotion and jealousy within you, this is what NTR is for! Both people feel conflicted about the morality of NTR because they’re afraid of the idea that they’ll lose each other, this is truly what makes NTR hot.
So far, it looks like it's just the currently introducing the characters and the idea of NTR. No sex scenes with other guys yet which I prefer to build up for that NTR moment. Just the NTR scenes are currently in the husband’s imagination and the roleplay.

Gameplay:
The gameplay is your typical AVN with 2 main choices with one side choice. The two main choices are how you would like the NTR to be handled. You can pick the more dominant NTR side, where the husband plays a more dominant role in controlling the wife. The other is the submissive NTR, where the wife plays a more dominant and teasing role. She is able to NTR you with or without you but with communication on hand. The last one is Hard NTR, which is NTR where the wife is basically stolen away from you. It’s clearly stated that this is more so a what if, which is great that caters the hardcore NTR side. Overall the choices in the game is fantastic and perfect for an NTR game like this.

Visuals:
The visuals are super hot. I love the 2D art, it’s obviously not the most amazing 2D art. But it has that feel of just being super sex. It’s not soulless like other AI games. The wife is freaking so hot. Just my pet peeve of her breast being a tad too big. But still, she’s THICC in all the right places.

How the overall presentation of how the dialogue and talking between characters work are great as well. It doesn’t feel like a wall of text you’re constantly reading, because the dialogue is dynamic. Even stuff like when the wife kisses you, the character model comes closer to the screen where you can see her lips when she kisses you. Feels that much more immersive.

The UI feels clean as well, there’s clear dedication and effort into this. Starting from the home menu screen, it definitely makes you excited when you load it up. The gallery and text section are done well making it into a personal diary. The little details like this make the game stand out like a diamond compared to other AVN or NTR games that put little effort into the UI.



Sound:
The sound design is good, but not fantastic. There’s good background and ambient music in the game that adds to the vibe. Just disappointed in the lack of sex sounds in the game, but I hopeful that the developer will add it to the game eventually.

This is on track on probably being one of the favourite NTR games i’ve played with what i’m looking at so far. Just everything is done so well with the character, pacing, art, UI and etc. Netorase is the favourite type of NTR and is my favourite fetish. I’m genuinely buzzing to see what the next update will entail. If you are a fan of NTR, more so netorase. THEN THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU TO PLAY.

Usually I am very careful in general to give the highest score when rating things, but I have no hesitations that Saxonado will make maybe the best NTS/NTR game we might ever see. The attention to detail in expressions, characters themselves, the dialogue -- it's beyond words. There's real passion and thought put into every line and I can't wait to see where it goes. This project deserves a 5/5.

The game is fantastic on the wholesome femdom route so far and it appears like it will stay that way. It goes the route where she loves teasing the main character. As far as the more dark endings where she leaves you or becomes totally corrupted or such those are explored too but are treated typically as the MC's daydream(still surprisingly well done given the context). Graphics are really well done as well with that fantastic smug face. There, that's 200 right?

There isn't a great deal of content as of yet to make claims about the consistency of either the art, or the ost up until this point. The UI feels clean, the art looks good and the soundtracks aren't jarring, and we know as far as porn games are involved, that's great.

What this gem is hiding is it's writing, and it's implementation of NTR(ase). I'm going to get into spoilers, but essentially not only isn't the protagonist the typical useless loser cuck (man actually build furniture) but the pacing feels believable, and the characters don't speak like prebuscent horny teenagers. I understand some of you want fuck-fests left and right, but NTR is best enjoyed as a slow roast, and Vulgar Reverie is taking it's time with the meat above the campfire.

Great writing aside. The game presents you with typically 3 options, allowing you to see "bad ends" as imagination by the MC dwelling into his fetish alone and after this indulgence returning you to pick one of the real answers. HURRAH! No more keeping 14 saves to get all the content!

Fellas, the art is good, the ost is good, the UI is easy to navigate, the dev warns you precisely where to save for future updates, the writing isn't done with one hand jerking off and one hand browsing 4chan, the author clearly passed 10th grade english and the female MC is a thick redhead, 5/5.

I guess I don't understand why so many people think so highly of this one. The art is pretty decent and you can't go wrong with a sexy redhead. But this is another VN that has mountains of text for single images and makes the screen constantly shake, which is irritating as fuck. It has one of the worst UI's I've seen (check the settings menu) and he hides the auto saves. The game has a slow build-up, which is fine, but honestly, how it's implemented is not hot at all, IMO. Just overall not that enjoyable.
